hmmmm I say no. I've used it successfully in a hydro but in my small (26") monos they didnt survive.

If it's a Feigao 8XL their chart says 83 max amps for that motor. I ran a Hacker 8XL on 4s on an ETTI 150 and a Castle 120 with no problems in a 32" cat. I think I also ran a X442 prop. If I remember my temps were up there but not terrible. If you decide to run it I would keep an eye on temps. I'm no expert just stating my personal experience.

I ran a Leopard 4074 2200kv on a swordfish 120 (in a sv27) and it didnt break a sweat. They seem to be pretty tough little guys untill they get wet (oops!).
It may not be the ideal esc though...you do have a larger hull.

    just a little note.
those 83 max amp is the factory recommended MAX continuous use and NOT what a 8XL wil draw if over propped.

You could start with a CF 42mm prop, it has less load than 442.

    .
I've got a couple of smoked ESCs to prove not to only trust or go by those numbers. But at least it gives you some kind of idea on a starting point. And of course prop small and work your way up. In my lifetime I've learned alot of things the hard (expensive) way! LOL
