Default wtb: lower units for outboard

so... I have this lower unit and want to run twins. If somebody has an identical one/two of these for me... lets see it. I may be wanting to do triples if I can get two more for decent price.

One question: what is max rpms these guys can handle? I was wanting BJ motor (1500 KV) on 4-6S? (that would be possibly 30-35K rpms)

What kind do you have already?
I dont know much about OB's. Are they the same as a nitro lower end? If so i have a K&B, but its a 7.5???

I remembered I forgot to add photo... Don't know the name of it - I think its K&B - but maybe pic can help.

It was for nitro. This one has a conversion and I will have one showing up that has a nitro engine that is supposed to be a super good running set up - willing to trade for lower unit from one that isn't so good.

I would like to track down two more of these if possible

    Hey Jesse,
It's a K&B. I converted a 3.5 K&B for my Bud Light with the stock BJ motor. Ran it a lot this summer with a x437/3. One day I tested some different props and ended up braking a flex cable with a Prather 215. The boat was torx rolling out of the turns when ever I would hit the throttle. It would put it up on one sponse. I think it can handle the RPM's though I only ran it on 4s. Hope that helps.

yesseree! get me three and I can paypal you now if you want.

this is gonna be pretty cool. I figure I may be able to make some of the parts based on my one complete kit coming in the mail, so at this price and having the BJ motors, I could set up 4 of em for my big kitty!

Steven, Did Hyper take care of the issue with his OS mount being too short??? Also his coupler does not work well with the stock OS Flex. I recommend one of the Hyper flex shafts as part of the package. The stock flex is a little too long plus it will also spin inside the Hyper coupler.

He was supposed to send replacement mounts to those that ordered from his web site but I havent recieved one yet.

Jesse, I just wanted to let you know that you can cut out all of that exhaust porting on the lower halves of the K&B (Kaboom) lower end...it will save you some weight! When you get those lower haves check out the insides...you will see the porting. If you're not sure what I mean, check out an OS lower and you will see the shape of what the K&B should look like if you cut out...just make sure you don't cut out where the flex runs through...

You will need to buy the K&B P/S assembly...not sure what/if anything else will work...

I would not use the stock OS Shaft for anything, it will spin inside all collets as it has a smaller square with rounded corners
