if you mean holding throttle on full while connecting power, yes.

I have even tried a different motor.I have other smaller seakings and this is the first problem
    i've had.
I cant get the program card to work with either.

    I really appreciate your help.

What battery are you using? 2S? 6S?

    4s lipo fully charged.
    I have the dx3 tx.
The 180 is beeping and the motor is twitching as it beeps.
    If that makes sense....lol

Yes that usually happens when you connect power but have no radio signal. When holding the throttle open on start up are you returning to neutral while its still beeping? I'm going to assume your using the internal BEC, which means power is getting through it and powering your reciever. Try re-binding your tx to you rx and try setting the throttle perameters again.

BTW make double sure your esc is plugged into the correct port and the right way into your rx. Iv'e made that mistake a few times myself.

i've tried everything i normally do.
    re bind etc.
I have installed new esc's before bit this is new problem for me.
The red light on the esc flashes and the motor twitches even when its not plugged in to the rx.
I have also tried another rx.

Looks like its a paper weight or is the 180 different to my 120 and 35amp seakings?

    thanks again

Did you try reversing the throttle channel?

I had a similar problem one time when my esc was programmed for a higher voltage. If the input voltage is not high enough it won't do anything but blink blink blink.

Don't use the auto-detect setting for lipos. Manually set it for the number of cells you are using.

The motor twitches because that is where the sound comes from!

i just tried different voltage and still nothing.
I still dont understand why it wont work with the program card.
Hobbywings website isnt really helpful either.
I emailed them once regarding another esc problem i was having and got no response.

Have you tried moving your throttle trim down or up. That some times is the problem. It's not reading zero on the TX. It's happened to me.

    Yeah tried almost everything!

Its only futabas that require rev throttle.I tried it anyways.
I'm using spektrum dx3 tx and a mr200 rx which work well with my other seakings.
My brain hurts now and i have to admit defeat.

Have you tried a different motor? You could also disconnect the motor from the esc, leave it for 5 minutes or so then reconnect & redo the calibration. Is this a DX3S transmitter you are using?

I'm running the same esc with a dX3s & have no issue. Be sure that your ESC receiver plug is plugged in the right way round. What is the receiver doing? is the light steady or flashing?

i have tried a lot of different combinations, motors,rx etc
Using the DX3e with other esc's no problem. The tx is bound to the rx and the steering works.
So the esc is providing power to the rx but all i'm getting is a green flashing light.
Did i mention i hate this esc for giving me grief.

Sounds like you should try a different motor as Simo71 suggests.

    things i have tried.
    different motors,rx's, battery voltage etc.
I must correct my previous post,i'm getting a RED flashing light,NOT GREEN.

when i connect it to the program card, nothing on the card lights up.
    This esc has won!
I hate to give up though.

Did you go over the things I mentioned? With that radio you need to check all your switches are in the correct place. The 180's are a good ESC, perhaps you could try another ESC from some where else & see if motor etc operates as normal.

Also what slot are you using on the program card?

i have the seaking 120 also and had no problems with my DX3e.
I didnt have a problem setting that one up.
If you have to jump through hoops to get an esc to work, then its not for me.
All you should have to do is program and go.
I am using the right hand slot on the card as per the instructions but nothing lights up.
I just think i have a bad unit.

With a light tester make sure the white wire is sending signal. Check that it's not pinched or frayed.
