miss G prop
i am going to order a new flex for my miss geico from steve tomorrow and need advice on a what size prop should i order for a little more top end ? i was thinking i would order a carbon plastic prop first to make sure the size is right then get a metal one when i have a size i am happy with what do you guys think

Try a CF42, maybe even a CF45 the 45 maybe to big though. I have a x642 on my MG right now, haven't put it in the water yet though. Still have to do some work on it before she gets wet.Originally Posted by cmunro

I didn't have my gps with me, but it was a noticeable difference in speed over the stock prop.

I got a maiden run today, on 4s with a x642 I got 36mph, I also ran 5s and got 46mph with the x642. I am loading video to youtube now.

I got 36.7 on my 642. And 35mph on my 442. After I get rid of the bouncing problem I have a Prather 215 I'd like to try out.

so what is it you guys are doing to get rid of the bouncing problem. tried strut height/angle and cog and never could loose the bounce. it seemed better with the strut all the way down. running a grim 42x55

It ran well, better than stock. But I didnt get a gps number on it. Left the gps at the dock by mistake.

One thing the hub is a bit long on a graupner 2317.45 and 2317.48 prop. So I had to move the drive dog to get it to fit.

Still trying to fix the problem myself. Have tried esc change, battery change, weight added, srtut, prop, still nothing yet.

bounching bow or "Porpoising"

To reduce or eliminate the bouncing or "Porpoising"(not sure that is a real word), try moving your batteries forward. Do it in small increments until you find the right placement. The bouncing should subside.
These boats are very light in the bow, so shaft and rudder trim alone, are not enough to get her done.
It would be great if you could fit some trim tabs on the boat, but the design of the hull makes it pretty tough. You can check the bottom to make sure it is straight. If there is a "rocker" (high spot) or a concave indentation, that can affect the boats trim and ride, not to mention speed.
I got the bounch out by moving the batteries forward a bit. Cats like to bouch, so we have to provide some form of resistance that can off-set or balance the lift from the tunnel and the prop.
These boats are much like their big bothers, and prone to flight. If they get airborne it is not good!
You may have already tried this, don't know, but it worked on my MG.

got it... it isnt mine, another guy at our pond. we tried gog forward and strut stuff and got it calmed down a little. he is also convinced trim tabs are going to be the answer. just strikes me as weird on a cat hull...... i will let you know how it works out..

Go read the post by the guy who runs his at 50 MPH! He says pull the batteries way back and put the strut down.
