Why?
- cable rusted through because the owner failed to dry it out each day and re-lube
- poor alignment with the motor coupler
- teflon liner wore out or got tangled with cable
- not enough gap between drive dog and strut
- too much stress due to large prop or hotter motor
- faulty cable
- they are considered an expendable item and do wear out

yea but it was only my second run
They come pretty well grease from the factory. So it shouldn't have broke on the second run. Fluids given some good reasons, it also could have not been soldered into the prop shaft straight and self destructed.
