I know it would piss me off if I ran a free web site and business was being redirected in public view for all to see. Have some sensitivity at least.

i only posted the other site because he didn`t have that motor yet he only had the smaller version that was the only one i found if not i would have posted his motor.

I think he said 80-bucks cheaper, not 80-bucks sale price.

You guys think 1340kv on 6s will get him 60mph? I think thats a good combo and would power the boat well but I think he might need to up the cell count a bit to get that kind of speed out of a 36" boat...

I think others would be a lot more qualified to answer what would be correct. I am just thinking that everything I've ever got that kind of speed out of Ive had to turn more rpm than that, but I could be wrong.

That motor doesn't need more rpm, because it should have enough torque to spin a huuge prop! That is where you're speed will come from.

Not on 6S right off the bat. On 7S he has more rpm and thats most likely where he might have to settle. 8S is just about suicide with that motor as amp spikes would almost certainly get over 300 no problem. But on 6S, and taking the time to dial in the hull, perfect a prop, there is no reason 60's is not possible. The gas/nitro folks are doing it with 23 to 27k rpm motors. No reason us FE types cannot duplicate such on 29k.

    So if I was to get a 1090KV version, 6S would be enough with 24,200 rpm... 22.2 x1090 = 24,198 rpm...

Or would I be better with 7S?

Please let me know, it is for the 40" DF clone mono. ... Using Monster 2000 esc....

It seems like that would be enough rpm with a big prop. Remember that these motors claim to be 90% efficient, so you have to subtract 10% right away plus anywhere from 10-20% for slip. Also remember that that number is unloaded rpm. Without knowing how this motor will perform, I would stay on the higher rpm side. Either 7s or the 1340kv version on 6s.

Here is a link for the ose top speed page where you can play with the numbers to get a good speed estimate for you're build. http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/conversion.htm

The 1090 is a more 8s friendly motor.

I would run the 1090 on 6s with 1/4" drive components and a monster prop.

Thats odd, is one post somewhat contradictory to the other?

I've got 1/4" hardware, step down stub to3/16", (thanks Steve!)

    Just can't decide.... 6,7 or, 8S ?

I meant 8s is better suited for the 1090 as opposed to the 1340. I like 4 to 6s setups myself. That statement was in response to 08gtrking. Guess I shoulda quoted him.

    Thats more like it.

Yes but, I want to nip at some other more expensive Open Mono's heels.
