I got a chance to run this boat with a new prop and a GPS today. The setup was stock, no turn fins, 4s1p enerland lipo, x642 prop right out of the mold, not sharp not balanced, I picked it up on the way to the lake!
38.9MPH was the GPS reading. This little thing HAULS with the stock powerplant. I see absolutley no reason at all to sell it.....not only because it's fast, but it runs COLD. My temps after 8 laps with the setup where 88f on the motor, 100 on the lipo's and the ESC was even lower. 82. That my friends is GOOD electronics IMO. I cannot seem to get this thing to heat up.......
Also...if you WOT from a dead stop. Your BJ26 will pull the front end RIGHT of the water and flip over if your not careful! It would pull "wheelies" no problem. Infact I had to be careful cause I almost flipped in the middle of the lake taking off!
The boat still hooks like a bastard in the turns....THIS I think is beause of the steerable outdrive. The post about putting the flexshaft all the way to the end of the outdrive looks cool, but I bet it still hooks like a bastard and does'nt turn any better. I like the boat enough that I am gonna get some SS or aluminum hardware for it.
I think there is enough clearance with the stock water pickup to have a x645 installed. And if this thing runs this cool with a x442....I think the x445 might be the prop of choice for speed runs. That is my next prop. I cannot BELIEVE how fast this thing is AND how long it runs for.....6-7 minutes on these enerland 4350 packs and they where still at 7.39 volts each.
