12s puts you're unloaded rpm's just under 29000. Thats right where you wanna be. Whats the max amp rating on that motor??

What is the motor shaft diameter? I'm pretty sure the rio 51 uses 1/4 inch flex cable. I hope its not the one with the square end. OSE might have what you need. If not contact Jeff Wohlt @ rcraceboat.com. He can make you something for sure.

I think the rio 51 has 5" spacing on the rails. Check out http://southriverrcboats.com/shop/ca...%26cid%3D16%26 They have a bunch of rail mounts for brushless motors.

I love the runtime and sound of these 2 strokes
but the cool factor of brushless has me thinking
    I would love to try a cheap KB45 700kv motor on 10s

I am trying to think of what gear ratio to use in 47inch mono, i know i am going to gear down a kb45 10xl 1200kv and it should be at about 15500rpm with a prather 275 (74.9mm and 4.3in pitch) and with pitch and diameter calculations the motor should see about as much work as a graupner 45-48mm in direct drive witch i am hopping won't break anything. After it is geared down at the prop will be around 705kv so i was very interested. All i need to do is seal the hatch and it is ready so i will let you know how it runs! I am getting all the bugs out with the kb45 then i am going to put dual 600 heli motors that are rated for a little more power than one kb45 and have them go to one outdrive. i have never seen it done in a boat this big (unless they were inline gassers) so i am pretty excited to see how it does.

That looks nice! hmmmm And yours on 10s is around the same rpm as i am going for. Do you know how many amps you are pulling? I know that big 3080 has can handle a lot more than a kb45 so i might be in trouble with how i have it now.

My 3080 is a 12 turn, rated at around 490 KV if I remember correctly.
    Never checked the amps.

Let us know how she runs with that zenoah motor. I've been thinking about getting another big gas boat and the new rio is at the top of my list.

    I will buddy
I really would love to find a different muffler for it to get a bit more power out of the G260PUM motor
20-25min runtimes should be a hoot
I'm going to break in the motor sometime this Saturday

The problem is for me were i run i cant use a gas boat so i cant drive it anywhere except the sea which made the exhaust rust and i had to buy a new one its just ruiining the boat. Time to go to the best power source !!
