    Default Electric Mini Aligator Tours

Just saw this today on the AQ site. Might be fun to toy around with if the price is right. http://www.aquacraftmodels.com/boats...urs/index.html

Was thinking of using this brushless motor with a 2S lipo think it's to much RPM?
how much rpm is a brushed 380 from all the aquacraft mini boats?

Mine should be here thursday! I purchased the elctifly T400 motor that they list as a hop up for the mini hydro so i am going to put it in the air boat hope this motor works if something blows out i will put my normal RC electrics inside it.

Keep us posted. I would like to go brushless and lipo just for reliability, runtime and ease of maintenance.

Maybe something similar to a plane running a similar prop size. It's going to create more drag running through the water then a plane would but it's a starting point at least.

Got it today it looks neat.. I did not run it but i installed the T400 motor in it it has a little more thrust to it now.... But i do think i want to go brushless.
The problem with it on mine was the prop way out of balance you see the motor shaft moving vibrating all around... I found out what made it off balance alot it was the chrome prop cone I twisted it off with a plyers and then ground off the nipple on the prop and it's much smoother now.

well thinking on improvement already I purchased two aluminum prop adaptors that fit the 2.3mm stock or T400 motor and a few APC props to test out because the stock does not go on the motor to good and even with my mod to it it still moves around a bit... I am thinking the new prop adaptors cullet type and set screw type will make it run much more smoother and effichent.....now i just have to wait for them to get here!!

props and prop hub came in today i tried 3 size props 4.5 4.75 and 5.5 X 4.1 pitch that they all where and the 5.5 feels like about the same thrust as the stock prop but with the new prop hub and APC prop it spins as smooth as silk as with the stock prop the boat sounded like hell and like it was going to rattle apart!!

Any runtime yet? Very interested in getting one for my son. I would order it now if tower had it in stock cause I can get it for $89 with free shipping but that deal is only for in stock items and my cupon expires soon.

    went brushless!!
Used a 3700KV motor with a 30 amp ESC i have a 4.5" prop on it now here she is.
I have to try it yet I am going to try the stock battery and then a 2S lipo.
I probably will have to go to a bigger prop like the 4.75" .

    Sweet!
I would start with the smaller prop first, that's a good amount or rpms on a prop like that.. you could be around 2x the rpms over stock

Sweet vid, thanks. Now I want one, for my son of course. I have never seen a little airboat that stable at those speeds. When I was younger I had a Dumas Lil Swamp Buggy that was supposed to be either electric or .049 powered and I had an Enya .15 on it. Needless to say it was way more tipsy.
