I just ordered one from HK about 5 mintutes ago. Not sure about this 4mm crap. Anyone upgrade to a 3/16 strut yet? If so got a link to hardware purchased? I have a Feigao 11xl laying around and just ordered a turnigy 80amp hv esc, I plan on running 6s. Will 2 3s lipos fit in the hull?

    Very nice Jerry.

Starting to think because of the length of this hull if a 540 11xl will be to small. Any input guys? I have a 580 7l and a leopard 4074 2200kv laying around. Will a 3/16 flex fit into the stock strut?

Diesel, how has your luck been with the 580l? I have some projects in mind and it seems fitting, yet I've read of quite a few people having them grenade.

Bigger than a XL. It is a big cat. Run a Neu, or Neu/Castle. the 1521 or 1520 should get it moving. 1527 is your best bet.

That's what I was afraid off. I only paid $219 for the boat not including shipping really didnt want to spent close to that on a motor. Most importantly I have 3 motors without a home, 1 of them has to work right? Don't want to buy another motor anytime soon. Out of the motors I have which due think would be best?

Throw the leopard in it on 4s!! That would be a great setup in my opinion!

Run the 580. Be careful, do not overprop it! Many, including myself have had bad luck with that motor. Or, sell them all and get a Neu.

What size Prop are people running stock on 4s? would a 42mm prop suit (two blade)? I only intend on running 4's due to it fitting in with other boats.

Nobody in the states is going to stock these because by the time we add shipping, our COST is the same as Hobbyking is selling them to YOU for.

Myself and a fellow club member have had VERY bad luck with the 580 motor! When it goes, it takes out the esc too! After a total of 4 motors and 4 esc's between us, the NEU motor became the CHEAP solution!

Prop the 580 WAY down from what you would normally expect!

Yeah Jim, its unfortunate, but I remember reading that. I'd be willing to pay more to a local dealer if they took the time to tweak out some of the issues. Unfortunately it would probably drive the costs up too much to be worth it.

I think I may have misled you. I thought you had a Feigao 580 but after going back to earlier in the thread you said a Feigao 11XL, that is just the 540 Feigao. Nowhere near the worries with that motor. Sorry if I scared you!.

With the 11xl having a KV of 1557, I would start with the X642. The M prop is more suited for a hydro or rigger. Watch your temps. You should be fine.

No you were right. I have both motors a 580 7l and a 540 11xl. So you think the 11xl would be better than the 580 7l? What if I used the 580 7l with a x642? I'm just confused on what would be the best option

Use the 580L but 8Turns will be better with 6S
