    Default Room for Turnigy Lipos

I'm upgrading my son's Fastech batteries from Proboat NIMHs to Turnigy lipos, and they are two wide to fit in the existing battery trays (length is ok). Anybody have any nifty options for modifying the trays to make them fit? One option is to leave the trays alone, and to epoxy in some straps to hold them in at a slant, but I'm also thinking about cutting out the existing trays and installing some boards with straps. Anybody else done this?

    Chief,
I have the same problem, so I just run the batteries at an angle. I don't use straps but I did shoo goo about a 3" long strip of super hold velcro to the side of the hull. Then I put the other side of the velcro on the side of the battery. It is wide enough so that 1/4" or so folds over on the front and back of the cell so it will "stick" on either side of the hull. It's not super secure but I haven't had one come loose yet.
