Alpha, do you have the motors and batteries yet? Do you have something in mind? We can help you better if you know what you want?
If you went with the NEU 1521-1Y run it on 5S. Hope this helps.

I don' t have batteries and motors for that hull, I don' t want to make a mistake with wrong components.
First I want to choose the right voltale, 2x4S or 2x5S . Thanks

I would go 2x5s for weight specially in a cat hull.

Motor choices and props. What hardware are you going to use?? rudder and drives?
What is your budget for this build? Do you have a budget? Do you want to use low end motor or quality motors?

As far as motor choice go, I would go NEU 1521-1Y (1577KV) or second choice Castle
    1520-1Y (1600KV). Props, X442, X442R and X447, X447R.

No specific budget, I' ve got powertrims from Rc-Raceboats.de with ball bearings inside and Hopf rudder (120mm)
I ' ll use Neu or Tenshock motors.
    Is 35000 RPM too high?

Is that the Kv of the Tenshock motor, 35000 kv?? If it is the Kv then it is a 2S motor. Do you have a link to the tenshock motor?

If I go for 2x5S, motor will be 1800kV or 1900kV with X442 propellers?

For us in France Tenshock are cheaper than Neu. Brushless Motor TS 2240 : 6 poles, very high efficiency, light weight

If you went with 2x5s with the 1800Kv it will be a hot setup. Do you want a fast boat?

I think a good sport setup will be the 2240/10 @ 1530KV = 28,305rpm/kv on 5S of course. You can start with a X442 and work up to X447. This will give you some decent run time. You will still need to decide on the esc's.

If you want a slow boat I would recommend the 2240/10. (I shouldn't say slow, as it will be fasther than 30 mph!) The 2240/9 is going to be a fast boat. You can prop up with the 2240/10 to get more speed if the 442 is not fast enough.

Yes, 5S + one ESC for each motor
or 4S + one ESC for each motor

I think that 35000 RPM is good for a catamaran and 30000 RPM is good for a mono. I am wrong?

I' ve found this video. Setup is 2x5S Neu motors 2000kV and X442 propellers.
The hull is a Maritimo Hydro Marine same size than the Genesis

    Alpha,

Here is the thread. I can't remember if he has build more than 1 cat. But he uses 1 NEU motor/drive for this project, that is why he uses a higher KV motor, to push the big hull.

    Hi Alfa,

    My choice for a light setup would be 2-Neu 1512 1.5y 1850kv on 5 cells ( 34225rpm).

    Or for a heavier setup 2- Neu 1515 2.5d 1650kv on 5 cells (30525rpm).

Both setups will require a very good esc. I think the YGE 120 navy will be up to the task.

And the props , Octura x442 cupped and detounged L/R.

Very good props to start with

Both these setups should get the boat over 60 mph.

    And be reliable.

My Simrad cat runs 2-1512 2.5d Neus on 5 cells (37925rpm) and octura x442.

Top speed so far is 64.5 mph / 103.8 klm/h.

Average amp draw is 55-60amps. Max amps around 120.
Run time of 6 mins with this setup.

Only problem I've had with the Simrad cat is the shafts keep letting go(glued joint).
So Ive changed all me flex cables and silver soldered them.
Haven't had that happen since i changed to the silver solder.

There is another Maritimo that has a very fast setup.

    WOLF IV

    https://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ead.php?t=7432

Wolf uses 2- Neu 1515 1.5d 2700kv on 4 cell (39960rpm) top speed for his setup
    67.1mph.
    2- Hydra 240 LV esc's.
And i might add that it is a very well built cat .
    One of my favorites.

SO i hope this helps mate.

    Cheers Bonewar

Thank you for reply, your Maritimo is fast and stable. Very nice cat

That helps me. 2x4S looks good but I prefer having more voltage and less amps.
Looking to HPR 115, many setups are 2x6S but the Genesis hull is smaller.

That confirm that 18,5 Volts for each motor is the right choice.
What do you think about good 1900kV motors with X442 props

    Thank you
