Default Batteries Submurged in water- Any danger?

So here is a simple question, I hope.

I have 2 lipos in parallel. Boat and setup are not really relevant. If and when the boat flips over and water gets in to the body where the batteries are, how dangerous is it? Will the batteries short/arc across the dean connections? Does the lipo discharge at all if completely submerged?

I run this configuration in lake water, so no salt content if it makes a difference...

only if saltwater. If fresh, just make sure they are good and dry before charging/using again. I know its a pain, but the best is to remove shrink wrap, blow dry or set in the sun to dry THOROUGHLY.
