the hpi tork 2200 or castle 2200 kv would be perfect on 4-5s but for 6s I don't know, probably the 1515 1.5y, I have it in the mean machine and even tried it in the df35" with a 43 prop and runs great never heats up

i was\am looking for a 6s motor as i already have several setts of 3s batteryes so for the neu`s it make most sense to get the 1515 1.5y or the 1521 1y but i cant se the 1521 fitting in my drifter.

To me the 1515 will be a borderline motor for the Df33, I would personally get the 1521 1Y or the Neu/Castle 1520 if you plan to use 6s. I know others have run the 1515 but I think a little larger can would be better.

What was your setup with the 580l. I will be running one in a 31" mono on 4s.

I disagree Raydee , hey that rhymes !! Anyway have tried 1521, 1527 and 1515 in a DF hull. Admitadley on 4s but for my money it is the 1515. If your hull is set up well and the hull blue printed nice and sharp it is the motor for me. Good run times, in circuit trim lap times as good or better and less amp draw

think il just have to se. at the moment the 13XL in it now comes back cool and gives about 6 minutes runtime on 642 and 443. so if a 1515 1.5y wil deliver a little more punch then that id be a happy camper :D

You should have tried 6s and awakened that 1521! Some of us already played with the 1515 in the DF33 and the winner was a 1521. Hands down.

    The 1515 1Y is a fantastic motor for a 33" mono on 4S.

I agree Mr Smock, I find the DF33 not the best 6s hull

I am actually thinking about buying the 36" version and selling my 33" version. I think the 1521 1.5D might be a bit much for the 33" version. Either that OR I just need to set mine up better

The neu runs MUCH cooler than the feigao, so I can turn a larger prop and get more performance out of it. But on same size (smaller) prop they seem to run pretty much the same with regards to speed.

What kind of speed are you getting on the Triton with that motor and what prop are you using? I have a Triton sitting on the shelf and I am trying to decide whether to put a 1515 1Y or a 1515 1.5Y. I am running 4s so the 1515 1.5y would seem a bit low on the rpm side??

What is the difference between the Neu and the Neu Castle? Has anyone tried the Neu Castle motors yet?

The 1515 1.5Y won't be enough on 4s. The Neu/Castle motors are mass produced in China using Steve Neu's designs. From what I read and was told they are about 10% less powerful than a real Neu motor. I run one in my 8th scale truggy and it runs great.

For hulls > 30", you might want to consider the 1521

There seems to be two opinions on the motor size to get 1515 vs 1521. Since I am looking for speeds at around 45 - 50 on my triton running 4s which size makes sense? Will I get more amps and heat on the 1515 vs 1521? This has been a great thread by the way.
