    Default Project Genesis!

I have a Genesis on the way. I'm considering buying a pair of stingers & drives to make it a twin cat and run it on dual Neu/Castle 2200's with 180a ESC's on 4s.

    Any thoughts on the conversion?

I really just want a nice setup that will hit 50+ and run for about 15 minutes.

I run that exact setup in my 34" sprintcat. Only on 5s. Spinning cr 442's, I've hit 71mph! 5s is REALLY pushing it though. I'm waiting on one of my 447's to come in and I'll be running those on 4s. I bet she'll be faster on that setup. Should work excellent on that Genesis as long as you can fit stingers or struts on it.

15 minuutes isn't gonna happen though. Not even half of that.

That's just a pie in the sky I guess. Gotta aim for something!

4s on CR 447s, cool. Maybe I'll prop a bit lower and see what run times I can get and strike a balance somewhere in the middle.

I'm going to wait until I have hull in hand, but I'm fairly positive that the stingers will work on that hull.

The other option is to leave the genesis in tact and pursue building a complete new boat... like the Avenger Pro 44. I've been targeting it since I've seen it. Still trying to get them to respond to an email though. I just want some photos of the hull and to know if it comes painted with graphics or plain color. =)

The Genesis is 1m long and your cat will need carbon reinforcement... I' ll go for 6S, 6S for the 2 motors or 8S, 4S per motor. Don' t be afraid

Strip its guts and lay it up w/ Carbon Fiber. Theres a bunch of post on here about different ways to do it. But a quick 101, strip it, scuff it, brush in some epoxy resin, lay in the CF, apply more resin, let it dry.

My Genesis should be here early next week.

My plans are to just make it a reliable 40ish mph boat on a single drive. Hopefully all that involves is a different ESC on 4S.

Not answering for Rum, but the 442 and 447s, as well as cut down 447s are typically used because you can get them counter rotating. 642s you cant. So more than likely, he has not run them for that reason. But Im only guessing, I could very well be wrong

HOTR 4mm full stinger/drive sets. Keeping all my drive systems same, so all the parts interchange.

I really don't have any measurements. I'm just guessing at this point. They are the same 70mm that work on the twin motor apparition.

If they don't fit the genesis, I'll setup the apparition for twins! Either way, it's a win!

Don't mind me, I'm in a silly mood today and finally having some fun!

I could be wrong, but Im pretty sure they are not going to work. Tha App. looks to have a smaller transom overhang and the props arent far behind it. Looking at this pic, Id say they will be too short. Your props are not going to be able to spin

Set up the App. Its nasty cool as a twin.

That pic says it's probably not going to work, but without the measurement on the overhang, it's just guesswork. IIRC someone had one on this forum, but can't recall the post. Perhaps we could get an overhang measurement.

If I'm going twin on the apparition, now is the time to do it, I have the strut apart already and the stuffing tube was knocked loose when the prop broke. It appears that I'll have to replace the motor mount to use the 1515 2200Kv anyway.

OK, so the 180/1515 single setup should work well on this boat too!

BTW- I just figured out how to get 3s4p 40c 16k Mah in the apparition... as a single. If there's a little more hull room in the Genesis, I'm going to attempt 4s4p 16k.

Missed delivery of my Genesis boat yesterday, but I got it today

Ben, the transom overhang is 4". The HOTR stinger is 2.75 inches.

Arrived very nice. Motor mount is very well locked down. Over all construction looks really good. The ESC mount was loose upon arival. No big deal at all though. And Ive got a small chip on the right front sponson... very small. No damage to the box though. Came with the tinyest little stand for a 40+ inch boat Ive ever seen. I think the Mini rio stand is bigger. Also came w/ a couple alan wrenches and a double ended open end wrench.. ohh and hatch tape! Overall Im really impressed, for 3 bills to my door, not bad deal at all.

Im not going to push the ESC to 4S. I will run 3S2P until I feel like getting another esc, which will probably be the Turnigy 180A. As DaggersFl told me when he got his.. its the smallest big boat youll ever see. Man is it narrow. But Stevens runs seemed as if it handled pretty well. Im not looking to set any records, just to have a fun sport boat...

    Very cool!

Guess this one is staying a single cat. I have the 180 and the 2200 ready to go. I'm assuming that it's the same 4mm prop setup?

I have an assortment of props coming, I'll work my way up from 40mm on 4s. Maybe try a 50mm on 3s?

Looks like the 104mm stingers will work, but then it's up to 1/4" drive, probably a bit too big for this boat. Yep. Staying single on this one.
