Just ordered this 1100KV bad boy for my 36inch sprintcat, flagging twins and going for one of these on 6s for the meanwhile.

    Cool

    "We wont tell you anymore..."

Like no max wattage, then they recommend a 100A controller for a 110 amp motor, etc. The price seems too good - about 1/3rd that of a comparable Scorpion - hope it works out for you.

I was thinking of getting one, but shaft is 6mm, where do you get 6mm flex cable to motor connector, they all seem to be 5mm?

pretty sure OSE sold some 6mm couplers for the KB45's when they sold them.

If not try Jeff Wohlt on OSE

6mm is much better than 5mm, less vibration

FYI, TURNIGY outsorced the design and manufacture of this motor to the same factory that makes HACKER motors.

Got this motor today. looks to be very large and well constructed, I cannot fault it visually.

Looks cool, Turnigy are labeling some good gear at the moment. I am using their digital servos in all my boats. They have a high torque normal size that I have replaced the 1/4 size servo on the rudder in my gasser and it works faultless !!

    Matt,

Could you please measure the mounting hole dimension on the motor. I have purchased 2 for a twin cat I am preparing.

    Thanks you,

Just an observation, but those motor wires look fairly light. Do they have the gauge printed on them?

they do look a little thin, but they are very solid as in hard to bend. I think due to the low amp draw that these motors are known to have they should be ok.

I would say so, Big props though so there might be prop torque issues.

As for watercooling, I will be making a watercooled mount.

I've kept quiet on here about these until I recieve mine.

Should be here this week, damn, never using airmail again... 3 weeks and counting....

    Next time its EMS!!

I think this would fair nicely in a 39" mono on 8S1P and a large or heavily pitched prop. That is the 880KV vesion.

I ordered both to see what they will be like, the 1100KV one I'll put in my 3.5lb (bare hull) 29" Promise cat... yeeeha!!

I owned a Scorpion 4025 1100kv motor for a few weeks until I sold it in the winter after reading the blog on these motors, decided to wait and glad I did! Well, hope so when I see them...

    29 inch !! Whoa, I thought I was building a hotrod with it in a sprint 40..

Hope it gets there soon Ray, mine took about 2 weeks to NZ and even Airmail normally gets here in a week or so. Ems is about 3-4 days.

They have arrived in Canada finally, they should be here by Friday at the latest.

I want to build a boat that is way overpowered but, just use a small amount of power so as to draw few amps.

I don't have to prop it to pull 100 amps, 75 amps would be nice and nice long run time. I have race boats, I need a fun boat or 2.

All good dude but, when Turnigy comes out with a $35 880Kv & 1100Kv outrunner that is nearly the quality of a Scorpion (Weaker Shaft only 6mm, Scorp is 8mm) How can I resist.

I sold my Scorpion because I took a chance at waiting for these, Cool!

That would be a great running boat!

May 25 Ordered 1100KV from HobbyKing via EMS. , last one in stock (thanks Ray)
Next day account read "shipped" with a tracking number, but no email saying shipped
Hong Kong mail and USPS did not recognize the tracking number
June 3 still not here, but account changed last night to "shipped" but without a tracking number and I received an email saying shipped.
I will wait and see if it shows up since no trouble on 30 previous orders.

As for water cooling, I am going to use the simple inexpensive DWI technique described in:
