    Default Best Lipo Combo

Working on my UL project and needed so lipo help. Which would be better:

    I currently own 2s 5000mah 30c hardcases and 2s 4500mah 30c

I'm looking to buy some new batteries and I was thinking what we be the best value and results in a ul-1. I will be running a 7xl with a 120amp turnigy aquastar esc. I don't have the $$$ to purchase and test which combo would work best so I thought I would ask. The 2x 4s in parallel would prob be my first choice (10,000mah & 70c sounds real good), but is 8s to heavy (although I may need the extra weight with that 7xl) in that boat and do they even fit height wise?

    Options are:
    1) 1 4s 5000mah 35c
    2) 2x 4s 5000mah 35c in parallel
    3) 2x 2s 4000mah 40c
    4) 2x 2s 5800mah 25c (I really don't like anything below 30c in my boats, but it's an option)

*Batteries are from HC of course, *

One more combination that you may want to consider is 2x the Turnigy 2S 5000 40c:

I would love to have those batteries and have been looking at them for awhile now, but they are always on backorder everytime I look.

Yeah that seems to be a recurring problem...

That's why I am kind of stuck sorting through the available inventory to try and find something out. Even 5000mah 30c would make me real happy, but sadly nothing on those either. What I have listed is kinda of the best out right now sadly.

I realize it's like curing the national debt, but the MaxAmps 6500's are some really good batteries. And they fit both lengthwise and crosswise.

Yea I hear good things about them, but I can't justify in my head spending that much for 1 battery. I can get 6 of the 4000mah 40c's for the price of 1 6500mah maxamp battery and I just run for fun no racing at this time so no go for me and maxamps, maybe down the road though since they are really good packs.

When you parallel batteries they do not double the "C" rating just the Mah. FWIW I use Turnigy and Zippy 2x2s 5000 40c in my UL-1. I have a set of Turnigy 5000 40c 4s packs and they are too tall.

Very good to know. Thank you.

I guess since the 4s batts are 2 tall and all the 5000 40c are out of stock I guess I will order the 4000 40c's.

Do you know for sure that these will fit? I have a couple sets of their 5000 30C and they are a pretty tight fit and the 40C are slightly bigger. Thanks

Two of the Turnigy 30c 3600mah 4s lipos would be perfect. The extra weight of 4s2p will help keep that hull stable at higher speeds caused by the 7xl.

The Turnigy 4000 and 5000 packs are 50mm wide and are a tighter fit. 40C is OVERKILL and wires are way too thick for what you are doing. I prefer the narrower 3600 versions lots better.

Although I do have some never used Turnigy 4000mah 40c lipos for sale if you want them. I also have the matching bullet connectors to go with them.

How much do you want for the 4s 4000mah 40c's? Hopefully the fit with the 7xl installed.

    I just placed an order to HC for 2x 4s 3600mah 30c, 2x 2s 4000mah 30c and 2x 2s 4000mah 40c. Hopefully this is a good starting point for this project. I do hope to get some testing in with the 2s 4500mah 30c and 2s 5000mah 30 hardcases packs I already have.
