It looks good the black does a good job of hiding the seams. I hope it runs as good as it looks. I won't be running the LSH class I am hoping to have time to make my own out of wood but may not have enough time.

That is the boat you returned. I repainted the cowl and spot painted parts of the bottom. Decaled and sprayed the scallops.

Yes I am aware of that!!! It is also the similar paint scheme I was going to paint it. I'm glad you were able to use my pics of the boat I was going to copy. I am glad you were able work on it enough to make it come out that way. I didn't want to spend the time!!!!

Not a problem at all it worked out fine in the end. I made the money for my work needed. Your paint work inspired me to do this one for Todd. It will be raced by him, this is mine it still needs clear coat.

Wow. These boats look great! I might have to send mine back to get it finished! Randy - Are you planning on making a larger (1/8 size) version of this boat? I thought I read that somewhere awhile back.

I am going to do U17 Red Dot Unlimited Hydroplane. I started it and have been so busy no time to finish. I also have a 34 inch started too!

Just to show that customers/friends bring all kinds of boats for me to work on. Hear is one that a guy some whare on the internet decided to give a try at building boats and this is what he came up with. It did have gas motor in it and my friend wanted a big tunnel to run with me at Heather farms so I converted it to electrics.

Ya there is another pro boat I am setting up too.

I dont have a lot of info but here is a video of it running on a weed eater motor. It should go pretty good with that 2028 in it now. Maybe in a couple of weeks we can take her out for a run.

I make three versions, kits starting at $125.00 and up. PM me with exact requirements. I will not be able to finish any ARTR's or better untill after August 2012. Hull kits and Race Basics will need to be on a rush order for the Nats.

At the last race at Kaiser Cove Ted flipped in front of me and I could not get out of his way. I hit him and was flipped up side down. when the race was over the boat was sinking and not enough time to get to it. I lost a old pal.

    Randy,

It looks like you fab the sides from light-ply?? Have you ever considered doing a laminate of an inner and outter layer of 1/64th or 1/32nd ply over a some 3/32" or similar balsa, or maybe some foam-core??

It would make it super rigid, and would add some much needed floatation. If you foamed in the sponsons, and also crammed foam into the hull wherever it might fit, you may be able to keep it afloat in the worst happens.

I have pool noodle cut to fit into every available open spot on my Raptor, just in case.

Darin It had foam in the sponsons and pool noodles in the hull, they just sink some times. It was a real hard hit, nothing is going to help at 60MPH.

Exactly, I had a ovalmaster 21 set up as a p spec and during testing my bec in my esc quit and it took off full trottle accross my local pond and hit a docked paddleboat. I ended up having to get in the pond to get it but it had pool noodle stuffed in the nose and it sunk. I was lucky tho. The pond is only 6-10ft deep. Plus my lipos unplugged at impact so they didn't get hurt.
