Default Water intrusion at the driveshaft

I have some water intrusion and isolated it to the flexdrive shaft. I recently greased the shaft-- other than that, any tips on how to better waterproof it? I did notice that at the point where the shaft exits the boat (prop side), the tube is a little misshapen-- would it help to put some silicon sealant there?

I would use epoxy - just mix up some 5 minute stuff and make sure it flows all around where the shaft exits the hull

Chief - I had the same problem. Put a very small piece of fuel line over the stuffing tube then ran the flex tube through it then on to the collet. Don't need much, I have an 1/8 inch of the fuel line on the bare flex shaft so it doesn't cause too much friction.

I ended up using silicon sealant as the epoxy I had on hand was too thin. Works great, the boat is completely dry now. When it wears off I'll redo it with epoxy.
