    Default 6s lipo for fastech?

    Hey proboaters
I've been running my fastech on 2x 2s lipo at the moment but in starting to wonder if the esc and the motor would handle 2x 3s lipo (22.2v)
Has anyone tried this with the stock esc and motor?
if you have would you recommend doing it?
    Thnx

Some people did and the stock motor shouls handle this ok but remember, this stock set up is recomended to be used with 2 x 7.4 batts to get 14.8V so testing above this may end up with

    Default 2x3s

I am wondering the same thing myself. I guess im a little confused as I read all these threads about 2s/5s stuff. I just got my fastech and want to know if it will handle 22.2.

When I ordered a new boat to run 4S1P lipos, I was advised by Steven to use a 240 ESC...

Thankyou chief. I just ordered the x642 prop and programming card. maybe ill get a few mph w/ my reedy 2s 35c packs...I just love it so far! pretty fast and great handling. just seems like the packs run a bit warm compared to the cars...no air vents perhaps.

Ok, I've tried 5s and the stock esc burnt out so I definitely wouldn't recommend going above 14.8 v. However, since then I've got a new 100amp esc and a 2200kv brushless motor and it's running on 5s lipo at the moment. Much faster than the stock set up. If you're going to run 5s in the future you'll, need to balance the weight of the batteries because 3s weighs quite a lot more than 2s. I got rid of the wooden battery tray and placed a single 5c lipo battery towards the front of the boat, not along the sides. I rebuilt another battery tray to hold the battery in place. Bend the rear tabs upwards a bit to lift the nose of the boat out of the water a bit since there's more weight at the front.
I got the parts from www.hobbycity.com, very cheap and quality is pretty good.
    Hope this helps.

Wow, thats great information man. Thanks. I wasnt sure if I could run a 2s pack in series w/ a 3s pack. I will try to find a better esc. Is your 100 amp esc and motor water cooled?

The motor has the same diameter to the stock motor so I can use the stock coolng bracket. The esc isn't really made for boats and unlike the stock esc, it's not water proof. It's fine to use it if you keep it in the water proof container. It doesn't get hot because the motor only runs at about 70 amps so cooling is not neccessary.
In the specs of the stock esc it says it takes up to 21v so it was a bit dissapointing when it burnt out on 5s.

Hey 21 volts is pushing it a little on stock esc. if you are going that route then a smaller prop will have to suffice. i swapped motor and went with the Aquacraft 35-56 motor and 60 amp esc and change to the 40x53 grimracer metal prop with 4cells lipo or 2 -7 cell nimh. was smoking fast until one day i hit a big wave and the boat submarine to the bottom of the lake near me. only thing recovered to date was the canopy. 25 ft murky water..

My son runs a X642 prop on his fastech and it works great. Did you see the threads on modifying the stabilizer fin angles (make them // to the chine)? That mades a huge difference on the turns,

A good fit for that boat will be the AquaCraft 60-Amp Water-Cooled/Proof Marine ESC for under $100
