anyone? must be a dumb question
The Ammo 36-50-2300 is an upgraded motor that is just a plug & go in the stock system. You will notice a vast improvement in speed with it.

You will need to prop down a bit though. The Ammo needs to rev or it draws a lot of current.
X440 X637 or the Grim Racer 40mm X 52/3 blade all work well as a starting point.

Stock ESC, Ammo motor & Octura X642 run VERY well.
...ask me how I know.

ive been running x440 been a good prop but dont know what it would do with that motor
I had an SV27 that ran the ammo on an X642. It ran great except for the inherent Sv27 issue of being "belly up" (which had nothing to do with the motor or prop because she spent the same amount of time on her back with the stock setup) Dirtysouth31 ran the SV with an ammo on an X445 with no issues.

Yep, the CF40 should work. But as I said in the previous post they are starting points. Work your way up. As you can see others are running bigger props.
An X637/3 blade is another good one.
I haven't got one, but I reckon an M640 would be pretty quick.
Anyone out there tried that one? Or maybe the M642?
Cheers.

question ? i installed the Ammo 36-50-2300 motor and when test running the motor it doesnt sound like its has the power of the stock motor??? the flex shaft and prop turns freely????
Its supposed to turn freely, unlike the stock motor. I just put one in my supervee and it rips! Got 46mph on octura 642 before it took flight!
awesome, i am running an x 645 prop:) the motor just doesnt sound like it has much power???? and it s 24 degrees outside
That prop is to big!

I agree, the ammo 2300 will heat up really fast with that prop. My 642 runs pretty hot, I am gonna try out the octura x640
Just got back from the pond with my new Ammo 2300 tried alot of props today.
started with a CF40 ran ok 41.5 things got a little warm
than ran stock prop only ran 38.5 got real hot about 130 deg alot of slip
X442 ran 42.3 not as hot 122 deg shrink wrap on Deans plug melted ????
My switch to 5,5mm Bullet connector
Grim Racer prop 40 X 52/3 ran 46.3 and much cooler about 120 deg
Still my fav Prop
Do you have any stability issues at that speed? Mine chine walks like mad over 40mph.
with the same prop.
I really like the 437/3 blade with the Ammo 2300kv.
Anyone having any speed control issues with the ammo? Ive been through 2 seaking 60a speedos that mysteriously quit working with my 437/3. I just read the specks on the ammo which shows a constant amp rating of 60. Are my speed controls to low of an amperage? I thought guys were running the Ammo 2300 on the stock 45A aquacraft speed controls? Also I cant run the boat full throttle without it porpoising like mad. Will running the boat 1/2 to 3/4 throttle heat up the speed control or increase amp draw?

I'v gottin 39 plus with the stock motor and 50 plus with the Ammo motor all running stock ESC no problems and the temps are good.
I ran my Ammo2300'ed SV with a Barracuda 125 and 437/3. Partial throttle will heat things up and be harder on the controller, but considering other peoples experience, I'd think 60amps should be enough. Is it on plane or are you plowing water alot at partial throttle? Plowing is bad and really draws amps. The porpoising is likely caused by the CG being too far back (I have my Lipos even with the front of the motor), strut angle being incorrect (mine is a hair lower than neutral, but neutral should work too), or Tabs too deep (mine are 1/16 above the bottom of the transom and neutral).
Maybe the ESC's are thermalling? At least they aren't burning up.
Long runtime will also heat things, how long are you running?
