    Default Gas or electric KOS?

I really like this catamaran, but I'm torn between the gas and electric versions... any recommendations?

I haven't seen the FE version run so I have no comment on it.

I have seen the gas KOS and I wasn't impressed with it's speed or handling. If you are just looking for something to play around with, you may be happy with it. If your looking for performance, this is probably not the boat for you.

    Just my opinion,

The gas KOS is pretty expensive, and from what I have heard its pretty slow unless you get the 4.5KWA motor or something else bigger and better than the stocker, which is another $300-$500. For half the price, you could get the EKOS and put some nice running gear in it and run 40-50mph..

if you like a $999 tug boat that looks like a Cat then go for the Gas version... if you like a potentially really fast boat, go with the FE.
Don't get me wrong, there is work to be done on the FE one but it's a cheaper starting point and with little money you can get her running fast and pretty consistent.

Thanks for the tips. For the fellow EKOS owners out there, what upgrades do you recommend?

Definitely motors.. The stock ones have been showing alot of problems over 3S or with aftermarket props. Im sure they will do fine one 3S with stock props, but you'll be lucky to get 35mph out of it. If you want to spend the money, get some Neu 11xx motors. Turnigy also makes some cheaper ones that may do better.

A stock Gas KOS gets 50mph+ with prop change and good tune!

I'd get the hull and have a one drive system... that way I could chose what I want under the hood.
I understand that takes away from the scale look, but I like performance as well as looks, and that way I have a happy compromise.
If you want 2 drive sys, I'd find a way to change to motors and use some decent props... even on 3s it should go

Yeah? Well show us where and how !! If some one says they have a bog stock one doing 50mph with only a prop change they are full of bull. Just do the math !! A standard Zen can not put out the power for it...
