Default Time to give the Blackjack some attention.

Ive spent so much time on my dumas sk daddle build in the builds section, that my cat was lonely. I decided to take the stickers off, polish her up and let her wait for her makeover. The plan is,

Remove battery tray, and radio box.

Either Fullers or aeromarine hardware. Or could go with the FT hardware.
I hear the fullers sometimes makes it slower than stock? That true? I want to have a stable boat and not have it blow over any more, and i hear the fullers accomplishes that. I couldnt find much on the aeromarine stuff, any reviews?

90-120 amp Seaking ESC, 2nd Proboat one is giving me problems again.

    Traxxas waterproof Servo

And i wanted to get two 3s 5000 batts, but do you think that will be overkill?

Maybe 2s is will be fine, or i could mix a 2s and a 3s. Any thoughts?

EDIT: after adding up all costs is it worth it to upgrade, it would be around 250 to do all that. I really want one of the micro hydros salir has. Oh well.

sounds good. if i were you i'd run a 3s and 2s just to be sure but i think the esc could handle to 3s.

Ok, that looks good, $30 less too!

Also with that one do you need to change the brass tube?

Also, make sure you shorten and angle the turn fins (or consider getting rid of them completely) depending on the way your hull handles with the new hardware.

2 3s in series is a little big, I'm wondering if a 2s and 3s in series would be maximum for the stock ESC and motor but have not heard any input on this. I think the stock setup was rated at 22 volts so 2 3s (6s) should be okay but I don't want to chance it!

Coming from experience, 5S at most and run an external bec. The esc is rated at 21volts. 6S is 22.2V. Even at 5S, your hit and miss. Some people have luck with it, some dont. I wasnt so lucky. Fire smoke damage lost esc, reciever and a gps unit. My $.02, 5S isnt worth it.

However, I have heard mulitple times, the MOTOR can handle 6S.

Lol, depends on how you look at it. As I said, my 5S experience was unpleasant. I got about 3 runs out of her before the magic happened.

But yes, 5S is within the escs limits. But disconnect the red wire out of the plug that goes into the reciever and run an external BEC or batt pack.

Color is easy to change.. and even easier to make natural aluminum.

I might try that, but would the aftermarket be better?

Does anyone know what the best choice for stability is? The offshore setup, proboat setup, or fullers?

i went with the hardware steve has shown...it is great...i did need to remove the stock tuen fins and now it is much better...as for the 6s..i ran with both 5 and 6 on the stock esc and stock motor and never had a problem untill i ran a differnt motor now i can get it right...i think the best choice is the stock motor and esc...just run a batt pack to the receiver..

Alright, this sat on the shelve until now. Just ordered some hardware from Steven, the one he recommended earlier in the thread. I also put in an order for some 2s 5000 mah batts from HK. I am looking at getting a new ESC also, would the 90 or 120 amp aquastar from HK be better? I would rather buy the 120 in case i want to use it for another boat. Will it hurt if i have too much capacity?

You should also do the turning fin mod. I cut and bent mine instead redrilling. And a nice Octura X642 prop wouldn't hurt either.. The boat doesn't lean to the outside in a turn with fin mod.. i did manage to flip when i tried though.. Good thing the rivers only knee deep..
