Default District 13 Sowega Grand Prix

Last weekend (Nov 7th-8th) the Sowega Boat Club hosted the last race in the Grand Prix series in District 13 (GA). We had the biggest turnout for Fast Electrics...36 boats!!! The classes entered were P-mono, Spec Sport Hydro, N-Mono and FE O/B Tunnel. Big thanks goes out to Doug Smock for being our little GA Power Plant and for bringing the FL and GA boys together. It was good seeing the faces to many I heard stories of. Jason Sims congrats on your 1st place LSH win, you also did good in tunnel. Chris, Ken, Mike and Kevin, it was nice meeting you guys. Thanks Mike for those screws I needed to fix my rudder. Anyhow you must be wondering where are the videos. Over the next couple days I will post all the videos I recorded down there so check back regularly.

Good vids! I noticed at the end it says Video by FLIP, or something like that. Did you use one of those little FLIP cams? I'm amazed at the quality!

Thanks for posting the vids Trini, it was a great weekend of racing and hanging out with the boys!!
Do you have any video of the two P-Mono heats where my boat stuffed at bouy #4 then launched like a missle?? LOL Man she went deep!

    A few highlights for me,
36 FE boats!!!!!!!!! That was a first! Thanks guys!!!
9 FE O/B Tunnels, Herb had been bringing extra boats to make the class all year.
You did good Herb, FE O/B Tunnels are alive and well in D-13.
Meeting Herbs son Jeff, and presenting him with his dad's records, 10 of them, well done Herb!!!!!!! Man, I almost lost it!
Running circlee circles with Chris Harris again, haven't done that since 06 when I raced officially for the first time. Thanks Chris, it was fun and I can't wait till the next time!!
Ken's open mono and hydro. The mono was SICK!!!!!!!! The hydro wasn't far behind.
Pitting for Mike in the LSG offshore heats, good showing Mike!!!
Jason, it was a pleasure to meet you!! Well done sir!!
Congrats to all who attended, hope to see all of you back next year.

Trini, your P Mono DF was flat hooked up. Looks like that was time well spent getting it dialed in. Did you leave those outter tabs level? The way you were running away from Doug there...you sure you weren't running 5s? Hahahahaha!!!!! But seriously, nice driving Magic Chef. Looked good.

    No excuses !!!!!

I thought I had my P-mono ready but obviously had her pinned down a bit too hard.
The first two rounds I stuffed it in approx. the same place on the race course. The boat went deep and shot up like a missle both times. Of course it rested upside down. It wouldn't have made any difference though, bent the rudder both times
So after two DNFs I decided to take it easy and just finish the last two heats even though I had made some adjustments to the boat.
The boys were packing heat in P-mono no doubt!!!

I'm satisfied with my overall performance in the 4 race series. I finished 1st in N-Mono, P-Mono, and LSH. I also took home a 2nd in LSG 23-30 Cat.

I learned alot and I'm looking forward to the 2010 season!

    Vid 4 now loaded.

Blake, I raised the outer tabs and used only the inside tabs just about 1/8 turn below level. Temps are 115 on caps, about 110 on the motor and 105 on the cells. It came a long way from when you first came to visit and I was testing it then.

In our club all the members run Neu 1515 1Y, Hydra 240 and 4s2p. Doug helped and showed me how to setup the boat else it would never run the way it does now.

Didn't Norman and my UL-1 teach you a lessen the first time we ran. We ran circles around you with very little tuning at all. BTW thanks for letting me use your x442 prop that day. I also need to return Doug's lead wheel weights that I borrowed that day...thanks Doug.

OK Trini...I'll furnish the props for both our hulls next time.
