Been there... the original ones are a bit of a suspicious origin. But yes, adding more will take the strain from the ones fitted.

I' m waiting for motor, cooling jacket and aluminium motor mount from rcworldwide.com.hk, they aren' t very fast ...

Now, I' m preparing the hull: reinforcement inside, tight box filled with floating material, exhaust pipes , and soft design modifications ...
After I' ll do the paint job

That work fine with bigger teflon washers and brass tube inside the strut, That' s perfect. With the Graupner drive dog I can use 3/16" propellers without adapter

I think that' s the best solution for HOTR 4mm strut. Easy, cheap

i had a crack in my 4mm and caused the shaft to spin in side the square , so i got a octura 3/16 bearing drilled out the strut and and installed, very easy to do and no adapter and easy to remove shaft to clean, just like every other setup is

I whent to RC shops but I didn' t find carbon. So I bought fiber glass layers and epoxy.
I' ll first reinforce the joint around the hull and after the bottom and sides with two thicknesses of fiberglass
The aluminum rudder from HOTR was badly mounted (inverted). Now it' s OK, All screws are on the same side and rudder is perfectly perpendicular to the cat

Gee, the 8XL is the same specs as Feigo. I wonder how close they are? I do like the pinned motor end.

Where dio you get this from? I have seen several distributors.

XPower and Feigao are pretty much the same... at least the same factory. When one of my suppliers placed the order for some XL's, he was asked if he wants Feigao or XP... Actually, if the order is consistent, you could get your own logo and color.

    Hi,
I' m not sure that flex/shat coupling will be strong enough.
I think to reinforce the end of the square flex cable with strong glue Is it a good idea? Thanks

    Default Prop

    Hi Alfa Spirit,

your project is very impressive for me. Im going to build this cat either.

On picture above i can see very nice prop in fitted in graupner DD. As i remeber, graupners DD has outer dia. 10mm and to props seem to be perfectly aligned with DD. Octura has about 8mm hub dia. So i prefer props like yours. Where does your prop come from?

    Thanks, Cugi.

    Ok, thanks Elvish

The aluminium propeller is a USA brand may be AMPS or something like that. No brand on the prop, only 2029

My cat project is a cheap RTB and I' m pretty sure it will rock

    Hi,

I have just modded my original TFL strut because I might be getting the dual motor set from e-bay, The problem with this is that it runs 4mm stingers and I want to use 3/16" prop's...

I turned down a piece of oil-lite brass 4mmI/D and 4.762 O/D. It's a lovely snug fit now and runs true.

I think this is the way to go if you want to use 3/16 props on any 4mm shaft.... IMO!!

Very interesting! I'm just modding a 100A mystery ESC. I sanded the FETs flat and I will glue the heat-sink on them with a thin layer of JB Weld.
