    Default Esc ?

I'm looking into replacing my stock ESC with a Etti 150. Can someone please explain to me the difference between the BEC and the opto models. Thanks

With the opto model you will either need to run a receiver pack of batteries to run the radio or run an external BEC (battery elimination circuit)

Theo BEC model had the receiver battery elimination circuit built in so you do not need to install additional batteries

You have a choice. Battery pack will increase your boat weight. Sometimes this will help sometimes it wont. Second choice is to install external BEC like rockwerks mention in his explanation. One of them is Castle BEC:

cost is cheaper in the short term, less electronics to mess with. maybe a tad longer run time (several seconds)

    no real benefits actually
