I think its gone
Bummer. That model was a classic. Now I wished I would have kept mine...
Chief
ya I think it was just discontinued within the last month.
Glad I have mine. Should be easy to sell if I ever need to, it is a great boat!
Ran that sucker just yesterday! It is so dialed in I can rip turns. It is so stable I can't believe it!
I have like 20 hours of run time on this baby. Really a shame to discontinue, but there are so many nice options, who can blame them....
They also discontinued the Proboat shockwave 26 brushless a few weeks ago...now I know it is not a favorite of many people, and it had its issues, but mine has ran perfect from day 1 and never given me issues. It was my first R/C boat and I love that I can run a single 2s lipo and still get almost 30mph out of it. All my other boats require 2x 2s lipos or greater so less run time being I need 2 batteries each time I run them. I wish there was more boats out there that only required one battery to run them, as it makes getting into the hobby a lot easier for people on a budget.
But like said, lots of nice options out there so some things need to come to an end before new bigger and better things can come to market.
The Fastec is listed as discontinued on their web site.
There is 2 in stock at hobby wholesale in Edmonton AB. brand new in the box if anyone is interested. http://hobbywholesale.com/
I have 2 fastech nitros, lovem to death, getting one of them ready to run for this season.i was thinking how hard would it be to convert one them to brushless.love the way these boats handle,as far as im concerned, they're classics imo.:rockon2:
Resurrecting this old thread for nostalgic purposes. Just got a NIB formula fastech on trade for a brushless 2wd slash. Always wanted one of these since they first came out. Glad To get my hands on one since they are discontinued.
My dad has a 2005 formula 271 sr-1 with the 415hp fuel injected 502. it runs in the low 60's. similar colors as the fastech but different paint scheme. I'm running a stock 440 2-blade from the blackjack 29. Getting 32mph on 4s. Not breakneck speeds or anything but still pretty fun to drive. It carves turns pretty nice and handles choppy water pretty well too.
I have found a few sites that still sell them but I don't think they are reputable.... I love Formula boating, I can't get enough of it!
Oh, for me being 17 it's really my parents but I use it more than they do. Don't worry I do some serious cleaning on her when done playing'! I do get a feeling of 1980's Miami Vice while getting on plane...lol
I do love the FasTech series, just wish they were in the 40' range.... Me Like BIG boat and the little screamers!
