Peter, I just read your post. On the website, it does state round bottom strut. Flat bottom struts do not work. I also am seeing a lot of turn fins you have tried that I would say are not good choices. I would stick with the Kevin Macomb fin that Mojo Racing sells, or a Virginia Craftsman fin. Those are the only two I trust. I would also try an X445 or 447, detongued, sharpened balanced, tip cupped. The GP lineup has always run well, and in rough water too. It currently holds the 2 lap record in oval trim for nitro, so I know it moves out. I think right now, you are just needing some tuning done. Also, have you scuffed the sponson bottoms? If they are still gloss paint, that will cause handling issues, and scrub speed. Another thing to do, is cut down your rudder probably 1" shorter. it should only be about 1" to 1.25" deeper than the prop at its deepest point. I hope this helps. Mike, ML Boatworks
