supervee 27 ? bad rx?

Hello folks so I have all stock 27 supervee and my friend wrecked and the stock canopy flew off exposing my electronics to water, so today with son after wreck week later the boat didnt go for 1 minute and shutoff and dead in water.. yay but got home and the radio wouldnt work and I changed it out for a 2.4 radio 2 channel and seems to work so far. Do yall think that im good now? Also plastic stock prop broke today the edges so I ordered grim 42-55 , and the onshore plastic 40 and 45mm two blade did I make mistake to buy the 42-55 if im going to be running two 2s lipos? I tried today lipos but one lipo was bad that I knew the internal resistance was bad so I may just buy two new 2s lipos from hobbyking something like the zippys 5000mah 40c 2s. What yall think in ur knowledge of this old boat?
