Oh look at my BBY Scat Cat21 Transom too...

I got rid of the seam!
Looks like a nice hardware setup. :thumbup1: Is there much adjustment in strut as far as height? So whatcha gonna do with the scat? same mini cat hardware? what prop nut is that? sorry for all the questions. I may use that hardware in the future if OSE still has it.:moon: Also.. I just HAD to.
I have a lot of adhustment in it.
The scat21 was gonna be the twin drive Mach5, but you know where that is going now. I really don't know what to do with it. It may be another freebie if I hit another stumbling block.
That prop nut is a piece of fuel tube. That prop isn't what I intend to run, it's on there just for the pic. That is the stock BJ-BL prop.
i see why u asked about the hardware
BTW i like seamless boats, are you familiar with the traxxas blast ?
seamless. I guess just another idea stolen eh ! LOL

lol, i did that boat back in the day. about 5 years ago.
your the idea thief. http://cornsnakes.com/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif
So HOW old were you when you did that then?
It looks like it took a lot of work!
not much. sand paper, epoxy fiberglass, and some glazing putty.
Where would I get this putty, I have been using Squadron Putty, and I really don't like it.
I just cut a piece of white styrene to fit on the back, you can still see it through the white primer
I will send you some good stuff Diegoboy! I used about a quarter size dab and it comes in quarts. I dont know of a website but I use all Evercoat Products from Their Glazing putty to AllGlass. They have special fillers for plastice. glass. rubber. such as bumpers on auto, marine, aero. They even make one for the show car guys that has small schreds of steel so when a person stick a magnet to the paint it sticks as if there is no filler there. Sorry to get off track
Thank you Mich!! I already have a need for that putty!
HEY!!...Wheres mine? I can use some of that stuff:D.Quote:

Checks in the mail buddy!:thumbup1:
i use 3m piranha putty
I put the boat, transom down on a piece of paper. Traced the outline. I cut it out, and put it in the back of the boat. Made a few adjustments on the paper, and trimmed again & again. Once correct, I cut the top half of the paper off where the seam was. I placed this paper on a piece of white styrene I traced the outline of the paper, and cut the styrene. I stuck it to the transom with CA, I sanded all the edges square (as I could). I filled the edges where the transom meets the styrene with gap filling CA. Sanded, filled the low spots with Squadron putty (yuk), sanded, sprayed white primer...
Here is an outline of the piece I added to the transom...

thats right on man. Thats exactly like I would do a transom doubler. I used cardboard and traced the back of the hull and cut that out. fine tuned the edges to inside of hull. then traced that to the 3/32" doubler. I epoxied that to inside of hull with holes still in transom so epoxy would squeeze through. using wood pieces I clamped the new doubler to hull for a nice firm hiney. Prolly the strongest part of the hull now.
yes I was calling it on the Scat cat 21
Holy moly, do I have a mess on my hands.
Whew, Mess has been averted. Back on track once more.
'83 chevy, you almost got a SC21! :o
I want a freebie
