The Zelos is finally back in one piece. It's been on and off the work bench all winter. I tore it down at the end of last season to reinforce the hull around the seams at the rear of the boat. Since the hull was basically bare after the inlay work, I kept going. I filled the rudder stand-off with epoxy and chopped carbon and installed blind nuts for the rudder mount. Two deck stringers up front made from carbon plate. New push and twist hatch locks. New Dynamite Fuze motors and MBP wire drive collets. I had to grind the motor mounts to create a little clearance because the new collets are so huge. Two new Turnigy 180A ESC's w/ Castle 6.5mm connectors and a custom carbon power switch mount. I re-ran all wiring and cooling lines and zip-tied all suspect hose barb fittings. I also filed a little more angle into the leading edges of the water pick-ups underneath.
I had plans to blueprint the rear two ride pads, but I need to be done with this boat and finish up all of my other projects first. I may put at least a layer or two of fiberglass cloth on the underside of the hatch since that doesn't require a complete dismantle to accomplish. Between crappy weather, family, and a lingering injury, there's been no time to to run any boats this year. Maybe tomorrow...
