The end...
I feel real bad we had to do this.. I wont get into details as to why...
I also cannot tell you whats in the works but can say we might have to hang on the line for a tad...
Lets race!
Grim
Thanks Mike for your input...just seems strange how the plug was so suddenly pulled on this popular model.
Don't worry,we'll race em till they can no longer be repaired!!!
Racin in Blasterland...JS
I'm sorry to see the Revolt go, but I look forward to whatever is coming next.
Good thing I have two Revolts.
WAVE BLASTERS ROCK ON!
Thanks
Grim
Proboat Impulse 31 v2 was one option I was considering, but would rather not have to deal with extra electronics I don't really need. It does appear to be priced a little on the higher side.
I am a really patient person, considering I've been doing strong FE research for over a year now.
Thanks for the heads up!
I am definitely looking forward to what is in the works.
Hey Grim, thanks for giving us the official word.
I'd like to request that, whatever you do to follow up the Revolt, you offer blue/orange paint scheme again. The royal blue and fluorescent orange really look great in bright sunlight.
Wow Grim u got a tuff job...one guy wants a 6s play boat, the other guy wants a P Ltd race boat and another guy just wants pretty graphics...one even wants a kit boat!!!(not a bad idea)
As they say...u can please some people sometimes...but not all people all the time!
And (hopefully)...life goes on.
Does anyone know why (or venture a guess as to why) the Revolt was discontinued? It was by far the best boat on the market in it's price range... I just dont get it.
I decided to visit and perform a search for "Revolt 30" on the good old Google search and it was interesting to see Tower Hobbies has the RTR listed for "$349, (estimated) Late April" for availability, which I don't recall seeing previously. Not sure how their site is updated or if information was supplied to them from Aquacraft.
It could be nothing, or it could be something...
I thought I would jump in and share.
Just saw this. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...ad80059212.jpg

I have mine set up with a dynamite 80 esc running 6s. Same plastic propeller as on the Traxxas Spartan. Ran it wide open all summer. Never a problem. A tad heavy with a GensAce 5600 Lipo
They did the same thing with the Rio EP...
Right after the Wildcat (full size) came out the Rio was disco'ed (still shows that on the manuals download page) - 3~4 months later it was re-continued. Let's see... slow sales, disco it to drum up interest, then re-release it??
Why not make improvements to Revolt (like.. dump the cheapo plastic batt tray) then re-release it as version-2 like PB does with some of they're models.
Just a thought...
At a minimum, put a better flex shaft in the re-release.
I can't help but wonder if warranty costs hurt the bottom line on the Revolt. I think the flex shaft failed on every single one, which isn't so bad in itself, except for replacing nice Grim props at $25-30 retail. That had to hurt. But they stood behind their product and I supported them by buying another AQ boat.
I was shocked to see that my LHS had just received a brand new RTR Revolt 30 from their main distributor. As most of you know they were discontinued last summer supposedly never to return, but now they seem to be back in stock at various locations.
Needless to say a shiny new blue and white Revolt 30 followed me home :w00t:
Upon inspection the only notable difference between it and the two I purchased last summer is that the new one came with a more updated Tactic radio system. Everything else is essentially the same as what was previously being offered motor, hardware, color schemes etc.
I really really like the design and handling of this boat and for anyone who is just starting out in serious FE boating I would highly recommend one of these to get your feet wet.
Cheers, have a great summer and happy racing!
Great news!!!!
I've already got two Revolts, so I'm not in the market, but I did notice that they are back "In Stock" at Tower Hobbies:

For a replacement shaft, do you guys recommend the stock version, or have you found an aftermarket shaft that you prefer?
The OSE shaft is good too. I'm still running the stock collet on both of my Aquacraft boats though....never once have I had an issue with them. No slippage or breakage here.
I'm also proud to say that my Revolt was able to grab a second place in the 2nd heat of my very first boat race.
Just an update to an old topic but Tower still shows these as In Stock and doesn't say "limited quantities" so maybe it's back to stay for a while?

They have been in stock for a while
and hopefully will stay that way
not many RTR P Limited boats left
