I like to use a 3K 2x2 twill weave
Thanks Ryan, I was wondering what you used in yours.
No problem. The Zelos needs seam reinforcement the most. I did not do it in mine (one of my first inlay jobs), but have since updated my technique to include a narrow 2"-3" strip of CF cloth on the seam first and then a second layer that's part of the main inlay piece that covers it. The seam is easy to get at along the sides, but needs reinforcement along the back at the transom too. Luckily that part isn't all that visible, so sloppy work is easy to hide. I did small epoxy and chopped carbon fiber pours into each sponson tip, across the front bridge, and in the rudder standoff. Be sure to reinforce the battery tray mounting tabs as they pull off easily in a crash from the battery weight.
How much weight did you add to the sponson tips.
