question on reciver's
Have a blackjack 29 v3, sk120 esc, had 2 runaways with it (had it set up to shut down without receiving signal from transmitter) just kept on going. luckily was able to retrieve it. Once the next day, with a boat, across the lake and no one found it.
Anyways, decided to change receivers from sr315 to sr215 sprectrum. And low and behold the antenna for the sr215 is way shorter by about 4inches. From where it's mounted about a 1/2 inch would protrude into the antenna tube. Seams like I would lose all control in a short distance. Is it possible to lengthen the antenna? or just get order a sr315 and be done with it?
Thanks,
John

Both the 215 and 315 are listed as having 90mm antennas, odd. You can replace the antenna with one having a longer coax, but I would try it as-is first. Many folks get good range with the antenna entirely inside the hull. 2.4 gig is different that the old 75mm band radios.
If you programmed the radio or ESC correctly it should have shut off when you lost signal. How far away from the transmitter was the boat when it ran off?

The Spektrum RX's have a failsafe feature. They shouldn't be capable of "runaways".
HOWEVER, you have to set the failsafes correctly.
Once you have all your settings (throttle-trim, steering trim, etc.), simply rebind your TX to your RX, with all the TX controls in their neutral position. This should set the failsafes to these positions should you encounter a signal loss.
