Got my shipping confirmation today!
'bout time. I saw one on eBay, so I assumed the container finally hit this week.
Just ordered mine from Horizon. Should be a good boat to mess around with.
Right on VP! At last a boat that doesn't require any upgrades from the box to go fast except maybe the flex cable... I say that because I snapped one of the Factory Geico 29 cables and one Kintec shaft while using the 3831 motor on 6s. So far the OSE cable is holding up well. Does anyone know if the Veles 29 cables are made any stronger than the normal Pro Boat factory cables for the BJ29 and Geico? I heard of a few people breaking on the UL-19 cables also.
Does OSE have a replacement cable for the Veles? Would the Black Jack or Miss Geico cable fit?
Other than the Zelos twin, all FG Pro Boats run a 3.7mm cable. Pull out the liner and run a 4.7mm (3/8) if you're worried. As long as you leave a gap between the drive dog and the strut, you shouldn't break a cable. Most cables come apart because people refuse to acknowledge that cable shrinks under load and need space between the dog and the strut.
I have broken two cables, one stock Geico and one being an aftermarket by Kintec in my 3831 equipped Geico 29 with the 5mm gap at the back of the strut as well. The kintec cable appeared to come unsoldered at the prop shaft end. see photo. Rafael check out my run with the 3831 equipped zelos twin at 88mph. Awesome job to Pro Boat on this new motor! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SaIkSbd7QGw&t=187s

Solid run, good job. The issue with most 4.7mm cables is that they're brazed to the prop shaft which is a fail point, no matter who is making them. It doesn't help that material has to be removed from the cable to stuff it in to the prop shaft. The 3.7mm stock cables in the UL-19 and the Veles 29 is crimped. We've found that the only failure with the mechanical connection is when there is not gap. The cable compresses and pulls itself out of the prop shaft.
Here is some useful info I posted to FB.
Thanks for the help Raphael.
Wonder how fast this thing will go... Rafael mine didn't come with a manual so I'm going with 6s...:bounce:

If you ever get tired of single drive, the Zelos 36 struts, or similar struts fit on to the back. That was the reason for me doing away with the overhang. ;)
Amazing how much more speed that hull can handle when you make the hull a true 29 inches on the wet side.
Make sure to mount your LiPos as far back as possible. She likes them all the way in the back.
Oh, and BTW, I see the bag the manual comes in, between the radio box and the packaging. :D
The Factory setup looked like I was running it in 6 inches of snow with a plow attached at 54mph. Adjustments needed, so I eyeballed the strut the best I could without a flat surface to set it by and topped out at 69mph on the same charge on the first set of batteries. The boat would spin out quite often when you tried to turn quickly. More adjustments needed.

Mark,
Mine should be here tomorrow. With any luck, the wind will die down some before I try to run it Sunday. Where did you place your batteries? Rafael suggests as far back as possible.
Mod number one will be floatation similar to what the Zelos has for the canopy just incase....Here is a photo of the sponsons if anyone is interested. I'm very impressed with the build quality of the hull also! Rafael you have outdone yourself on this one! We now have a mini Zelos!

Here is the maiden run. I got the spinout problem solved... Overall great build quality on the hull and I'm liking it so far.

Not even close. The stock Geico 29 v3 cable is 12 inches long and the Veles cable is 13 3/16 inches long. The drive dog cut outs are different spaced as well.
I also made some good use of some of the packing foam, I put a couple of pieces that were already cut perfectly in the front of the bow. They were like they were made for this area. Only the one large block in the center was there from the factory.
