those temps on the 70 mph run looked kinda high ,i seen 190ish brush across the screen on the gun . i wouldnt run that prop for anything other then quick speed passes then bring it in .
my cnc x440/3 does the same thing to my bj29v3 motor .
That run was about 3 minutes after my first all stock run and I probably ran it too hard but I wanted to see what it would get and see how it handled. The rain was coming and I didn't have time to wait, so I went ahead and ran again. The motor was already around 125-130° when I started the 70mph run. The battery connectors were pretty hot as well after this run and were in the 180° range. I watched the video again and the motor was in the mid 160° range and the ESC was like 141° it was the connectors that were hottest in the 180°+ range. 3 or 4 passes with this prop on a SAW run is perfectly fine and the temps are in the 140°-145° degree range from my test with this prop and ESC combo in my Geico and the Veles..
Updated speed is 77mph.

Fast!!
What battery connectors are you using?
Thanks Travis! It has stock EC5's I pulled the cores and re-soldered them myself. Sometimes they just don't have enough solder on them for my liking. I had one come loose on my Impulse 31 last year.
Man I'm not trying to tell you what to do but I highly recommend moving on from the ec5 connectors. I've had a couple unsolder on me and let me tell you I dodged a bullet. Imagine that grounding out. A lipo grounding out is pretty dangerous. I use castle green 6.5mm on all my stuff and I've never looked back. I've never had one come unsoldered on me. Shorten your power wires too while your at it. If you shorten each battery wire and esc wire that's 6" of wire gone.....makes a difference. You'll pick up speed and things will run cooler.
Thanks for the suggestion. I might just do that. I'm not a fan of the connectors nearly touching the back of the motor either as they are. I know they're causing more heat in the motor by them being as close as they are to it. I'm probably going to relocate the ESC to another location and trim the wires accordingly.
Man while your at it, put 6.5mm castle or 8mm (my preference) connectors on the motor. I've went from 6.5mm to 8mm and picked up about 2mph. Just my experience and advice.
New best speed 80mph (129kmh)

hellO!!!! i new in the hobby and i have the same setup! but a can pass 61 mph, with 5200mah 50c EC5. i also adjust the strut 2mm on flat surface, but nothing, do i have to change batteries?? bigger ones im fine with 70mph!!! appreciate the help!!!!
Hello Roman! I don't recommend trying for 70mph with this boat if you are new to the hobby because the 70mph setup can overheat your electronics quickly and some less experienced people don't realize it until it's too late. However 61mph is Awesome speed if you are using the stock prop. You mentioned you have the same set up I am using...Did dasboata prep your prop? If not then it will be difficult to hit 70mph without a professionally prepped abc 1716 prop. If you must try for 70mph you can contact dasboata on here and see what he can do for your prop or just ask to buy an abc 1716 prop from him and you will be all over 70mph (even with a bad setup). You will need to use a good brand of batteries like Gens Ace, Revo, or SMC packs and 70+ won't be an issue. With a good tune you should be near 80mph. This 70+mph setup I am telling you like I stated above will heat your electronics up pretty quick on 6s if you don't know how to run the boat efficient, so only run a few passes and check temps. You want to keep everything under 140°f. WARNING if you elect to run full throttle on the whole run you will burn your stuff up. Run a fast pass then a couple of slow passes to let the electronics cool. Good luck with it!
Perfect!!! I already have the 1716 and yes I notice the problem even with 50c.
Smc only have 5400mah 90c.madrcer that is to much!!!!right??
i was looking and thinking in the future. buy a 7400mah 90c in case my esc and motor die and i have to replace it with a bigger ones. what do you think madracer!!!!!
Perfect!!! will do!!! Thank for the help!!!
I wanted to update this thread with my new best run on the 100% all STOCK Pro Boat Veles 29 (prop and all). I ran this prop again because I wanted to see what the boat would do now since it's dialed in pretty decent. The gps devices recorded the boat at 68.2mph and the gps logger got the boat at 69mph. My best with the abc prop is 80mph (video above) so 69mph isn't too bad for a totally stock setup.

Here is another quick run before dark...It's not my best speed but thought I would post the video anyways. Boat runs very stable setup like this and next time I'll have my best packs in it.

How much run time are you getting? From day 1 I’ve alleyways tried to build sport boat that haul the mail . I think single or double passes are cool but not practical for those just getting into this hobby.

Thank You! Set up like this about 2 minutes with 4000-5,000mah packs, but It's not for laps only straightaway passes along with some cool down passes that's if you want to try to run a whole pack set up like this (which isn't recommended unless you are on top of your setup).
isn't the stock prop close to an ABC1716 ?
Similar Yes, but with less pitch. My stock prop had 2.50 overall pitch so it's just shy of a 1715. Below is one of mine beside a 1716

Thanks !!!
I have a few props that markings are hard to read .. I may have a 1716 lol I need to find a pitch gauge ... happen to know of any

You finally change out that 3831? Pushing mine hard I had 2 come apart .. what servo you went with .. looks like you doing a good job there .. nice speeds
Thanks! I used one of the cheap 20kg servos from amazon.
