Interesting idea, just thinking that for the offset it would be easier to wedge the mounting plate. Someone handy with a lathe, mill and a file could make this. I like this idea for my next rigger build in a year or so.
This is a great idea. You could take a regular strut, make these cuts and you would be good to go. Just have to add the turn buckle. I will take a new strut and have my buddie who is a machinist make he mods. I would eliminate the transom bracket and just go with a flat stock piece of carbon fiber to bolt to at the bottom and mount the turn buckle at the top. I can share some photos of the carbon fiber flat stock that I used on my Mr. Krabs. It extends about 2 inches into the hull and then protrudes out for the strut. Strong and light weight. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I have a new CF Raptor being built. I'm looking for some new ideas also. Pm with an email and I will forward some pics of a CF strut and mount I found on Hydro World. The Germans build some wild stuff.
