Ahh yes I understand. The scale purist. I may go there someday and certainly appreciate true scale models but I’m more a resto-mod kinda guy. I’m building a scale model of “my” Scarab I will never own. So of course it has blown 3500HP motors and steerable Arneson surface drives.Quote:

My signature stands are all foam. My latest is made from a foam cooler ran out of the nice foam. :laugh:

OK it's been 3 weeks without a club meet but the repair was simple. First successful maiden video for your entertainment below. Apparently outward-rotating props are not the ticket. I default to outward always because it makes more sense in my head, but the result seemed to be the opposite of what I expected?? When one prop cavitated with turn input the hull literally torque rolled almost out of the water! Funny to watch enjoy!
The second run was much better after some trim changes and inward-rotating props. It did 67 on GPS but was getting hairy. The myth that some hulls simply will not perform beyond a certain level may in fact be true, but I'm stubborn enough to have to learn most things the hard way. Unfortunately I did not get video of the second run. Next time!

Much better attitude now with drives up and more rear CG. Maybe need to go back a little? More power than driver guts too. But a nasty hook despite careful turns. Any tips?

I am. Will lower them. I know this rear blowout is a characteristic of stepped hulls. I was also told that props outward is most common with twin vees? Will try that again too.
