Dont get me wrong randy's boat runs good The screamer should just do more than weve seen so far.

Why should I need more then 7400x25c= 185 constant amps? And double that burst... If I'm pulling 160 I am pushing the schulze? The rhinos at 25c should be plenty good from what everyone has told me on an outrunner as efficient as the scorpion... I bought the outrunner because I was even told many guys are racing them on 30c 10s1p setups??? So in theory I should be plenty safe with the 10s2p of the setup I had.... And why does the schulze have any higher c requirements? I would think that the batteries would go "poof" before my schulze? And if I am pulling over 160 amps I'm using the wrong setup... Right? I'm gonna try either my hv240 or 40-160 with the boat again.... I have plenty of lipos though... I have 4 5s 30c turnigy 5000mah too... I am going to run 10s1p with 2 of those.... I have been told 1p and these outrunners is ok..... And that's with guys who are racing, I'm just ripping up the waters up here at our camp on the lake..... Ok well.... Sometimes I even pretend I'm racing.... Lol:)

Oh, I def. agree. Seems maybe I should have hung onto my Neu 1527. It seems with the watts they were claiming in DF jets and what not that this motor should be turning well over 60mm props no problem. I dont understand how it will just not turn the props at the proper speed. No motor heat and lacking rpm with bigger props just seems too wierd. Generally, you prop up too much and temps go way up on motor and esc. These things are pulling vey low amps, maybe that is part of the problem.

          I really think they need 12s or better to wake up, @ 14s on a 457 try 6700 plus watts @ 131 amps . 31,250 rpm

SO AM I WAY OUT THERE WITH THIS THINKING.... I am hoping to hear from others before I try this setup again with a NEW scorpion 4035/800 and a fancier controller....... I just don't see why my batts aren't up to the task..... in theory I have been told by all that the outrunners don't demand as much from the lipos.... and also a couple few years back, heck 12c batts were getting things done????

If the batteries arent adequate the esc is what will suffer . Id go with all 4 of the 5s 5000 lipos at 10s2p but I like the screamers numbers better on 12s lipo or higher. No i dont think youre out there in your thinking id rather have more than just enough in this situation. How many volts can the schulze handle?

The schulze says on it up to 14s.... so must be around 60volts....

Xfactor... I spoke with a few "well known" racers that were running these scorpions on 10s1p 8000-10000mah 25c setups.... racing in their 1/7 hydros...... and they said it was a great "light" setup... and they had done so with great results.... I know what you are saying and I am definately more of a driver then a wrencher and my knowledge is totally limited... but everything I have ever read says if I was pulling amps that were high enough to damage the esc I would be KILLING the motor overamping it first..... ? I ran it the first time on 30c 5300mah elite 5s lipos in 10s1p format... when I ran it with the 10s2p is when she Burnt up? just don't get it? Oh well....

I still think the meltdown wasnt a result of your batteries.

Well, in FE, it just seems that sometimes SH#* happens. These boats all have the tendency to be very tempermental and the smallest of things can destroy a component. We may be getting a little off topic as well guys.

Jason I think 14 s is more like 52 volts.16 s is around 59 volts. Are you gonna try your screamer @ 14s? try 12s first to be on the safe side. The website claims the screamer could take up to 18s or 67 volts. I will keep this in mind in my esc design.

Jmscard, any lipo over 5400 mah is a 2p pack. So 8000 to 10000 mah packs are 2p.
Xfactor, controllers are rated by the resting voltage, not the under load voltage. 14s is considered 60 volts.
