      380 XL's are so close in weight to 540 S motors that I think they may over lap. But I could be wrong.

        I wish I had tested the set I had longer. I wanted to see of the longer rotor would produce more torque than the S @ the same weight and kv.

            Mark am I correct that they overlap? Looking at the numbers it didn't make sense to sell both.

                Yes the 380XL and the 540s do the same job, it just depends if you can fit a long and thin or a short and fat motor in the boat.

                To get the torque figures you need to calculate them from the maker's data sheet or measure the electrical characteristics of the motor.

                380S =13.3 inch oz
                380L =18.5
                380xl=23.7

                540s = 23.7
                540L = 31.8
                540XL=51.1

                SV 27 = 32.5
                pro boat = 32.4

                  I have this one too,but still problem finding watter cooling and mouting ,
                  Anyone suggest me item on offshoreelectric website??? or on ebay.
                  :) I plan to install on my mini hydro.
