Note; the motors are in excellent condition, with less than 10 minutes total running time. The motor shafts are 8mm with flat spots. No wires have been short cut. Motors have 6.5 connectors installed.

Note; these are the newest generation controllers with Data Logging & Dual Opto Isolated Throttle Lead. 12S Lipo (part number:010-0087-01). They are brand new and have never been run in a boat. They have 5.5mm connectors on battery leads and 6.5mm on motor leads. Both controllers have been programmed and bench tested to insure they’re in proper running order.

Are the 2220 motors comparable to the lehner 3040/9 1,167kv? 60mmx80mm motors. I know someone who is planning to build a 52" cat twin set-up. Guys from HPR suggested the schulze 40.160 & the lehners. But those esc's are hard to find. I'm just wondering if these neu's and cc ice's can be good alternatives? I will let my friend know about you for sale stuff. Sorry for the stupid questions mate. I know so little about these big Steve Neu stuff. Thanks!

Not a stupid question, actually your question is right on target. The two motors are similar in size and power. I haven't run the 2220's to their full potential, but I did make a fast pass of 112MPH in my HPR-135 on 10S with large Prop Shop 3 blade props. My guess is the motors would hit 120 plus using cut down Octura X470 props.

I'm not that familiar with Lehner motors but I'd guess the Lehner 3040/9 is a bit more powerful. However, I do know of an HPR Cat that hit 125MPH plus using Neu 2215 motors on 10S.

Either way, IMO the CC controllers I'm listing would not be a good match for an extreme 10S SAW boat setup. Best application would be 8S or possibly a 10S sport boat setup. FYI, I was using Schulze 32.202 controllers with the 2220's and they never got hot.

Funny, many people recommend the Schulze 40.106 for 10S SAW boat applications. If you find one (let alone two) my hats off to you

Thanks for answering my question. I guess there's no cutting corners with this project. Good thing I'm not the one paying. Lols! No luck in finding any 40.160 esc. Maybe we will end up with other alternatives. Perhaps MGM. I think that was Achim that hit 205.3MPH using 2215's.

Interesting, Achim was the guy for sure but I was told he hit 128MPH with those motors?

And yes, these boats are beyond expensive, especially if you destroy one!!!

Oh well, sorry for the distraction, this is a discussion for another thread and another day.

It was 205 Kilometers per hour. If he went 205 mph there would be a lot more of a commotion.

Sorry guys! I checked Steve neu's website and it was 204kph (126.8mph) and not 205.3mph. with twin Neu 2215/1Y on 10s1P. my mistake. :)
