Just got home from 5 days in the hospital. Brown recluse spider bite that turned into MRSA. They had to cut a chunk 4" x 2" x 1.5" deep out of my arm. I'm on a wound vac machine now. Talk about pain! Jeez. probably won't heal for a few weeks. You guys may not see much of me for a while.

Wow jim. Take care of that, that can be nasty. I got bit by one in 06. It took several months to heal. Was on the inside of my right ankle. Hospital for 2 days, then daily visits for a couple weeks, followed by 3 days a week. Then just about when my treatment subsided, a good friend of mine got tagged in the knee. His was real bad. Any idea where you were when it got you? I was restacking lumber on a jobsite when my ankle started itching. I was in work boots. Kept sticking my finger down in the boot and scratching. Finally about 30 min later I took off my boot and had a small bleeding dot... within 2 hours it was the size of a dime and a coworker told me to go to the hospital "now". It sucked. Get better soon.

                  Thanks Scott.
the weird part is that I got in my van, laid my arm on the armrest and jerked it away, thinking it was hot! It wasn't, it was the bite. The next day two small pimples popped up in that spot. I popped em both. One went away an the other went wild. Brown recluse are normally in dark places. No proof it was a brown recluse but it sure acted like it. It was the MRSA staff infection that set in that caused the surgery. I was isolated in a private room until I was no longer contagious. A nurse told me she had heard that most venomous spiders in florida carry MRSA. Scary stuff man.

Jim, get better soon bud, man that sucks.

Those damn spiders are everywhere down here. I just killed 3 black widows in my van last week, under the seats and dash - right over my feet..CREEPY !!!. If you guys find webs in yur vehicle, chances are you got them in there. I don't know if you guys have seen these yet but they are in my opinion a cross bread of recluse/black widow spiders. brown spiders with the hour glass on its belly. I've been finding these more and more around the property, and in the garage. I'm really leery of where I stick my hands 4-SURE.

Wow Jim hated to hear that, get better soon. If you didn't see the spider it might still be lurking in your van. You and Brian better put bug bombs in your vans.
