HAHA Nice John. Nice to be able to rely on your support. I don't know how "right" we'll get it but a good time will be had by all.
For those that don't know, this is more or less how banter goes at the pond too. No respect for the veterans is expected or required. No snooty "I'm the best racer on earth" BS attitudes. There is no snobby racer elite nonsense. One race you could have an absolute a newbie as your pit man and the next heat that same guy might have a hall of famer pitting for him.
I swear I would have as much fun just hanging with these tools as racing with them. They're 99% good people. I say 99 because sometimes I fall in the 1%.
If your within driving distance and just want to check out the debauchery I highly recommend it. Turning laps isn't for everyone but watching other idiots do it.........well that's just high quality entertainment right there.Noisy personComment

I hate when people say they are the best racer on earth...its upsetting to those of us that are.
Are we going to be doing the "figure 8" offshore course again????Grand River Marine Modellers

I hate when guys say "I'm the reigning national champion so I'm expected to win".
Only heard it once. Guy was talking about a single class. Just sets weird with me. It was years ago but I never forgot it. Gone out of my way to never be that guy ever since.Noisy personComment

Yes I've been that guy once or twice, at least in my own head!!! and hate myself for even thinking that way!!! It makes racing so much less enjoyable. Goin into this one with the most important thing being that my girls do well and have a great time racing at their first Nats!!!! And that my wife has a good time too!!!We call ourselves the "Q"Comment

I know it's a nationals and all but the number one rule of racing I'm trying to get the kids to learn is "have fun". There is no other reason to have a hobby as far as I'm concerned. If it stops being fun I'm out. I've let this goofy hobby get the better of me on more than one occasion. It just can't be. Maybe I'm learning from them.
When you see our boys in a few weeks, ask them what the number one rule of racing is. They know.
Mike, you're running too many classes again IMO. More than even Fireball and he doesn't have the kids boats to keep going. Be careful. Don't let the quest for heats get in the way of what could be the greatest racing years of your life. Racing with the girls and your wife is on board too? Great times with family and good friends. You can't beat that with a stick.
.........in fact, I just talked (typed) myself out of another class. The boat isn't ready and I'm already tired of building. It's a sign! Run what I brung right.Noisy personComment
