Chris Tonn 1:8 Hydroplane - Budweiser TwinWing

    Hello Guys,

attached a video of my 1:8th scale CT hydroplane. Its a Tandemwing in the classic Budweiser design. On the pond it may look small but it has a total length of 49" and weights about 23lbs RTR.

    Hope you enjoy!

    regards,
    Manuel

Manuel, what is this, you're an oval guy now? lol it looks great man I can't imagine what its like driving a big hydro like that. The spray it shoots up around the turn is sick.

I too have been meaning to build a hydro very nice job.

      Hi Manuel,

Does Chris Tonn have a website or a list of 1/8th scale hulls that are available to purchase?

      Thanks

        Hello Mike,

well not really into oval racing but its a new challenge and pretty interesting to drive. With the X457/2 on the video its also quite relaxed to drive, as soon as I get another ESC in it again I'll try to make a video with the X460/3 - whole different story there.

        @ Trev:
Mhh mine was directly laid up from CT himself in full carbon fibre and also all his newer style hulls can only be bought directly from him. But his older style hulls and quite some other big hydroplanes can be bought here:
Dies ist die Webseite von Peter Muehleck

Mine is called the MPM 107, the development and first hulls are dating back to 2002. Its also somewhat tricky to seal as not really intended for electric use.

        regards,
        Manuel

            Hello,

a friend wants to sell his beautifully painted 1/6th scale CT05 Hydroplane. Its painted in Graham design, features twin 5850 motors and 2x Schulze 40.161 ESC's and 2x 10-11S lipo. Comes completely RTR for about $5000 and another $700 on shipping. Hull itself is about 60" long and a massive 28" wide. Its also made from Chris Tonn himself and a full carbon fibre version.

For more infos send me a PM or mail!

            regards,
            Manuel
