Finally Ran my boat on 5s!

Well I finally got a chance to run a 5s Lipo setup in my boat today for a full run. I ran it for about 5 minutes straight and brought it in to check it and the motor and esc were pretty warm...I could do the 5second hold test, but it was getting close to not being able to.

I was Probably pushing it on 5s with the stock setup, but man was it fun. It became a bit unstable at those speeds and was somewhat difficult to control due to it pulling to one side all the time when going wide open. I am sure I can make some adjustments and I will get it worked out but I had a blast driving it today. Might go back to 4s for a while..

Here is a couple videos from my run: Sorry about the second one with me in the shot most of it...my wife isn't always the best video taker

Also ran my Cruiser tonight too, and got some cool footage going into the sunset...I found I could place my camera right on my controller and it stayed put, so was able to film from my point of view essentially. Here is that video...not fast, but it was my very first boat so I still have a soft spot for it.

Just for the heck of it to get my whole fleet in here, this is a video of my shockwave from a few days ago:

If you have any Comments/suggestions on making my fastech or even my shockwave run better based on what you can see in the videos I would be happy to hear them!

They all look good, and so does the weather.

I am pretty sure the motor can handle 5S, but you are flirting with disaster with the stock ESC-- you might want to upgrade that if you want to keep on 5S,

Ya weather was very nice! I was at that pond the day before in pouring rain..no run time that day.

I think the motor is fine for 5s..even 6s I have heard..not that I would ever run 6s as the boat is unstable enough with 5s.. but I agree the ESC is gonna go eventually. I have read of a lot of guys running 5s through the stock esc, but I figure if it goes boom, then I get to upgrade it. I am probably going to go back to 4s just because it is still fun, it handles better, and I don't have to worry about frying anything for now.

            Hi,
Get your self a cheap temp prob to help with your boats and setup testing.
What props are you using and what kind of wire connectors are you using ?
Do you have any picture of your boats transits and setups inside the the hulls.
They will help to see whats going on.

            TTYL.
            ? ONLY IF THEY WORK

I will get some pictures later today and throw them on here. Right now the prop I am using is the stock prop which is a 1.6 x 2.5

Connectors are 4mm Bullets for both the esc and batteries (I know, I know 5.5mm is better but the 4mm is working fine for now with this setup)

And what do ya know, I actually just ordered a Infrared Temp gun last night haha. Hopefully it gets here by next weekend.
