Miss K 30 Roundnose Classic Hydros Kit - Photos or feedback from Builders?

    Hello Forum Members
Since I am recently retired, I am returning to FE boating after a many year break. I am in the Toronto Ontario area and used to race FE boats with Metro Marine Modellors and Northern Lights Model Boats. I noticed the Classic Hydros Miss K 30" out of production hydro kit on the OSE website (Out of Stock) and I am currently trying to find an unbuilt kit to build.
What is the consensus on this kit and boat from a kit building and FE running perspective? I am hoping to build one of these (see my Want To Buy post on the other section of the Forum!) and run it on a mild 4S set up for scale sport running. Has anyone got build pics and finished kit pics? I searched the forum and there were a few builds but not may completed kit pics.

I am a reasonably experienced builder and completed a 27" Atlas "picklefork" hydroplane wood/plastic kit many many years and also built a 24" roundnose fiberglass hydroplane into the Miss Bardahl, that I think was a Bandit boats hull - that tells you how long ago I built that boat. The pic below shows my Miss Bardahl that I still use for sport running.

If anyone has any comments or feedback on the Classic Hydros Miss 30", please share your thoughts and feedback and photos.

Also, if anyone has an Unbuilt Miss K30" kit with all the wood and ABS parts, I am interested to buy it, and you can see my WTB post or please message me. Cheers RvE

After the wood kit disappeared, you could get a fiberglass version from Phil Thomas Hydros. That's what I'm still running, but only a few guys in the club to race against. Here's an old photo of two of the original wood models. Mine is a little behind. These things are a blast to run. Good luck

Great photo Zooma. Thanks. I have seen the Phil Thomas 30" fibreglass shovel nose and will consider it. Dumb question - How long ago did the Miss K 30" become hard to get?

Oh gosh, about 4 yrs ago for Classic Hydros wood kit, about 2 yrs ago for Phil Thomas fiberglass kit. You might want to go to philthomashydros.com and post a question. Apologies if URL is incorrect.
