She's almost all back together now. I'm reconfiguring some things to make swapping out parts easier. Tired of it taking 30-minutes everytime I want to change ESCs, and I also want more flexibility in battery placement.

For those of you following along, I was also testing a different setup on this boat. I think I may be onto something, thanks to a long and very helpful talk with Mike Z. (Grimracer). I'll give more details once I get more figured out. No secrets, just want to make sure I'm on the right track before I send anyone else down the same road.
Sounds awesome!!!...That Black goo looked Grim!!!

I think he's just dreaming... I wouldn't hold my breath for that one for a bit. WAY too many other projects on the table at the moment.

Testing I was doing wasn't related to that part!

Nothing at all... don't think that the same thoughts haven't crossed my mind as well! Maybe down the road. I'd LOVE to have another shot at getting that damn battery tray cover made! If Tupperware can do it, why can't we??

As for the cables... wouldn't change that, except to add cable protectors over their length, and pass those through the bulkhead to the servo. That's how it's done.

Darin...on the bottom of the outboard the rudder seems to be very blunt and 90 degree angle into the water ...would it be beneficial to round and sharpen the bottom of the skeg below the prop ?

No... I haven't added anything like that to mine. I just added some zip-ties around the existing rubber bellows and go run the thing.

If I ever get the urge, I'll replace the rubber pieces by filling in the holes and then adding brass tubing that just fits over some cable covers, but for now, it works fine the way it is, and frankly, isn't worth carrying the extra weight, even if it is just a few grams.

Why are people so concerned with covering these cables??

Got everything back together tonight. Set it up with a converted Castle Phoenix ICE-100, and also some wire extensions, so I don't have to unseal the transom every time I need to swap out ESCs or replace motors. Can also use the entire length of the battery tray now for battery placement. Just laying the ESC on top of the cells, or on a foam insert, depending on where I ultimately place the cells.

Im not Concerned but ...when you say you would do it as an upgrade then we all figure it would be better than what we got hahahaha...We are all just tweakers at heart trying to make things perform/last a little better hahahaha......AND its Winter up here in canada the only water that isnt frozen around me is in my house ...so we are idly just looking at our boats which makes us want to work on them hahaha

Darin, you achieved the flexibility in battery placement you were looking for. I'd be interested to know your driving impression with the rearward center of gravity.

And thanks for staying connected with Stiletto owners - that's very cool.
