just got home and i have no idea what i'm going to work on
went to see madagascar 3 w/ the kids yesterday and tried to install most of the alum remaining parts for my slash. also installed the mamba system but only got to try it around the house. it seems to have too much power. but thankfully, both motor & esc seem to be working fine. that was the whole point of the exercise. (pic attached)
getting ready to send u guys one last final list before ordering the parts
update: jerry, i like the color combo, don't change it! you made a good choice
That mamba monster is an awesome combo in a slash. Get rid of that stock receiver box and get one from a stampede 4x4. It will mount at the front of the chassis. the MMM ESC will bolt right up to the slash 4x4 chassis with the e revo esc holddown. You will see the mounting holes once you move that stock receiver box.

Hey Ed, remember CoreyM? I just realized he's also a ose member when I saw him selling a geico a few days ago.
Mac, one of rc18t run like that with wraith 7,000kv on 3s castle mamba25. Now both my rc18T &rc18MT needs complete drive trains. Hahaha! Now I need to complete my bnew Xray M18T too. I have a bnew quark 33a procar esc but I think its DOA. It's not responding when you try to program it. It just has the red light when I power it up. Darn it!

yes, i remember coreym, i email him once in a while. i told him about ose. matter of fact i sent him a link to this thread. i think he's building a fc which is why he's getting rid of his geico
i love the rc18's, i almost built an rc18b instead of buying the mini8, but someone convinced me otherwise. i still dream of building one, but now i have my sights set on completing the boat and maybe getting a 1/10th scale on-road like an xray t3 or something
let me know if this is what you are referring to.
what's the best way to secure the receiver box in the front of the chassis?
Those are the ones. The stampede receiver box is supposed to screw into the two existing holes on the front of the chassis. I used mine from my erevo but had to drill a hole. The stampede should bolt on with no mods.
Srislash, im broke after getting the hull, but you sayed (offerd) do you mean like free, dude i could send that one to Mac to make the turbines why i build the other, that would be sweet !!!! PS nice vid your getting there..
Taga 84.4 is screamin,, nice vid..

88 trying to hit 90,,,crazzy!!!! So i feel leftout,, how dose everyone get the stuff on the bottum of they're posts, like what boats they have and such????
I scrounged around my electric stuff and found a Hobbico servo that used to be in a aquacraft reef racer that my son busted up months ago, I found a 2445 3200kv motor that used to be in my mini deep vee which I took off the water cooling jacket and grounded the 3mm motor shaft to 2mm to fit the pinion of the xray, got a 2s LiFe tx battery for power as it is the only size battery I have that would fit inside the chassis and got a T60a esc that I used in a mini deep vee.
Since it was just for testing purposes, I didnt use double sided tape - just routed the wire anywhere just so they kinda stayed there.
Not bad! Having given up rc cars more than 20yrs ago, this mini seems a hoot! I was even surprised how fast these little boogers go! Many times did I see both my rx and esc being dragged on the floor! hahahaha!
While I didnt do any fast straight runs, Im wondering how come motors for these 1:18 are listed at 6000kv - 7000kv whereas I already found the 3200kv fast enough? Am I missing something here or im just getting old?
They're fast & very nimble - you gotta be quick on your fingers and a small input on the wheel could literally turn them on a dime!
Im still deliberating though if I would buy the appropriate combo for this mini.
