total mamba monster motor/esc cost me $230, not bad, about $100 savings... i would not have bought the esc if it weren't cheap, i don't really have a need for it except to try it in my slash. kind of fed up of the VXL system, it is very flaky. traxxas is replacing both motor/esc for me this time. just checked ups, parts are on the way.Axial Yeti XL - Traxxas Slash 4x4 (x2) - Losi Mini 8ight - Tacon Soar Buggy - Blade 120SR - Miss Geico 29 (hull + parts)

My slash has a Mamba and a 1415 and I still can't get it to full speed on 4s without it "blowing over".It is geared with a 56 tooth spur and 24 tooth pinion.Comment

1. Repaint MG in your own paint scheme
2. Try to find a fluorescent green color spray can in abundance from your hardware store. But then again, you have to remove the stock color and repaint the whole boat with the new spray paint.
With the 2 options above, atleast you can easily control and manage scratches. Even slight dents could be covered and sanded with bondo and just repaint with a color that is easily accessible to you. You could also buy the stock decal set of MG if you're still sticking with the stock theme.
My first gasser which I've shown here in this thread emulates the "Geico" theme. Stepehen advised me with a fluorescent spray paint that is near (not exact) to the stock MG color. I dont know if you have a paint spray can brand called "Bosny"? Check out #1005 here:
Using these fluorescent type paints, you have to first paint your boat "white" color before spraying these fluorescent paints. I found out that if your first paint or primer is a bit darker than white, the fluorescent green will come out a bit darker too. I painted that fluorescent green to something that has a white base color, an item with light grey primer and another item with a darker grey primer - each end result was a fluorescent green in different shades.
My Geico gasser is not pristine anymore - tons of scratches and stress paint cracks due to handling and running - but atleast I could still put it back in my original color if I wanted to as the Bosny fluorescent paint is a bit accessible thruout the metro.Comment

Okay, who here started with the RC car discussion? Don't you know that it's off-topic here? Lol!!!
Seeing what you guys posted, I got an itch and took out my Xray 1:18 which is just stored under my work table. Called Stephen up and asked what else I needed to complete it, then proceeded to HK and placed items in the cart. Stephen texted that he needed some parts too for his xray - so I doubled some items. Almost nearing the $100 mark on the cart, I decided to let it simmer as I'm sure there are other parts to be ordered once we get to think more.
Then Stephen called that the Repsol 2t motor oil that we have been waiting for and very rare to come by is finally available - and he kinda convinced me to order a case as they sell pretty fast and takes more than 6 mos before next stock arrives - so that's about another $100 there.
A Zenoah gas motor is about $200, so I'm pulling my hair out now!!!! Lol!!! Jeeeeshh, either you guys stop posting your car pics or I need to sell some of my FE stuff!!! Hahahahaha!Comment
