    MG Cof G

I am a bit confused about the center of gravity in Miss Geico. The instruction manual states "the center of gravity of the boat should be 30% (9-inches (228mm) from the rear of the boat)." I have measured the spot from the transom and it works out to almost exactly the wood crossmember aft of the motor. So here`s the delema; with my bateries all the way back touching the transom the boat is still very bow heavy. When I put a rod under the boat to find its CofG it works out to 1 1/4 inches ahead of the first mark. That would equate to using the back of the sponson to measure from. Can any one shed some light on this for me please.

hmm, odd. mine balanced up well with the batteries even with the back of the batt trays. nowhere near touching the transom. anything added to your boat?

I put Miss Geico on the scale : full load 2-2s 4000mah batteries and all - 4lbs 13.2 ozs or 2.189 kg

eh, don't underestimate the power of leverage. even "lightweight" pool noodles way out at the tip like that could have a significant effect on such a lightweight boat. just for fun, pull the noodles and see how she balances out.

Ok, pulled the noodles. You're right, did make a difference. Still a liitle off, with no noodles the front of each lipo is on the balance mark which makes them hang 1/2 over the back of the battery tray with no support.

Way to windy today, besides I have to figure out how to suport the rear 1/2 of each battery.
